It would seem quite imprudent to cut federal funding for climate science
when only climate science can give guidance to how and why the climate is
changing.
Cutting funding though would silence some AmeriKKKan scientists, just as
prohibiting stem cell research has stifled most U.S. stem cell researchers.
Causing them to move to Europe or other places that are more friendly than
AmeriKKKa to the conduction of scientific research. |

Federal funding for stem cell research has been zero's for many years.
The science hasn't changed. Why would it? Funding doesn't alter the laws
of nature.
Cutting funding of course is a political act. Clearly it is <YOU> who is
engaging in depraved politics here. |

Funny you mention God. I noticed that anytime Man-Made global warming

labels and things about religion and politics.
Actually, no. The more apt comparison is to creationists.

The only people trying to influence research are the Bush people trying to
silence scientists who speak about GW like Hansen, and the corporations

Clearly you're angry, but that's not an excuse for conflating things that
have no relation to each other and trying to change the subject. As far as
I know Ralph Cicerone never equated the Holocaust with ACC and his quote
you were angry about makes no such claim. I've certainly never heard
research scientists actually studying climate dynamics make that
comparison. But back to the issue, what is so wrong with the science of
what Cicerone said that makes you want to hit him for saying it?
Finally, I think if you cut off funding for climate science for a year
climate scientists would be *more* insistent on the importance of their
work, not more cautious. This goes back to my other question, if all these
people who are intricately familiar with the physics and chemistry of
climate think there is a problem, why do you not believe them? Climate
change skeptics remind me more of income tax protesters in the United
States, about whom one Circuit Court acidly observed:
"Some people believe with great fervor preposterous things that just happen
to coincide with their self-interest."
So, given that, leaving Cicerone out of it since he was speaking only to
the science, in what sense is what you are saying any less political than
what Heidi Cullen is saying?

The History channel had a one hour show about this subject. At least
two "scientists" said global warming deniers were the same as the
holocaust deniers. This angers me because it is saying that when you
deny man-made global warming that you also deny Jews were murdered by
Hitler. Wouldn't that make you angry?
No, because the point is that both positions involve ignoring,
misinterpreting, or assuming false and/or tainted a large, nearly
irrefutable body of evidence supporting the counter-position. I doubt
people saying such things literally mean that all ACC skeptics are also
neo-Nazis. But if you want to get deeply offended by every little thing
you misinterpret, it's your blood pressure. Personally, I like the tax-
protestor analogy much better since it cuts right to the core of the issue,
namely, if people weren't scared of losing their air conditioning in the
summer, big cars with quadrophonic Blaupunkt stereos, meat with every meal,
fresh fruit throughout the year, and comfy warm house in the winter, there
wouldn't be any ACC skeptics.
But back to your plea to debate the science, I'm still wondering what about
Cicerone's statement you object to in a technical sense.
