I will do this post and then pass out from major pain killers I've just
taken.
Tonight when driving back home from the supermarket I was heading south on
20th ST West and someone in a massive pickup truck turned onto the street
with awefull bright highbeam lights on and I got blinded and drive right
into a T-pole at 30mph. some people who knew me and what I do got me towed
home but the CFH is now a true junk pile. I'll get enough cleared away to
sell the engine and tranny but the rest is pure trash and I've got a brused
chest too, cal edison is going to replace the T-pole that the old car took
out.
I'll be hurting for some days but had to come home with my food stock and
cat supplys.
I was just starting to think things where going good for me.

Are you ok?
Did you call 911?
Because you should report this.
The truck's lights...were they those stupid blue-white intense lights?
If so, it's time to go to the newspapers and tv & radio.
If it is those stupid lights, you should sue a few car manufacturers |

Mate, You might well need more than just pain killers. That 'bruised
chest' could have broken ribs, and god knows what else. (Not to mention
other damaged things that you don't know about yet). Where you live, are
there community doctors or something that can pay you a visit?

A law suite isn't the solution to the problem and only makes the
lawyer rich. Starlord it is important that you have yourself checked
out even if only by a nurse practioner. They are just as good and
cheaper than a doctor for this kind of problem. |

Few people realize that ever brighter headlights are a natural
consequence of permitting ever more unshaded fixed location lights.
That's the real problem with light pollution, impaired visibility.
The economic argument doesn't mean squat to most people.
The more light polluting fixtures, the brighter headlights need to
be.
Can't dim the headlights (and still provide the needed illumination)
without first dimming, shading, or removing all the fixed location
lights.
The more light pollution there is, the more vision is desensitized,
and the longer the recovery time needed for the eye to adapt.
Hope you recover quickly!

The people I have observed with those extra bright headlights fall into one
of three categories and not one of them is intellectually capable of
understanding light pollution. Those three categories are:
-- Homeboys with their pimped-out SUV's complete with spinners, blacked-out
windows, thin tires, sound systems going "bumpa-bumpa-bumpa-thump-thump,"
and blazing headlights -- but they can't afford shoes for the baby.
-- Rednecks trying to emulate homeboys.
-- Stupid but rich teenagers trying to emulate homeboys. |

I agree with others here. You should be seen by a doctor. If you have
auto insurance, it may pay the medical costs. In any case, you should see
a doctor. Did the guy who caused the wreck stop, or did he drive on? If
it was the latter, he could be charged with leaving the scene of an
accident, if you can find him.

Tried to email you but got bounced.
Sorry to hear of your accident. The good news is it could have been a lot
worse.

I just hate those types. It is really bad when they have their fog lights on
in addition to those halogen
lighthouse lamps. You have 4 very bright lights comin at ya. Total
disregard for other drivers.
When they come up behind you I always position my outside mirrors back at
them aiming for the windshield. |

It has to do with the amateur astronomer,
injured in a traffic accident, who started the thread.

Sitav,
Of course we are expressing concern for someone who shows the beauty
of the Lord's creation to everyone. Other than that we are talking
about the horrible special lights some higher class cars have. These
headlights are extremely bright blue-white and are very disturbing
because they are blinding to approaching cars.
You might not notice these since you don't drive yet:). |

Silly, he used a mirror to focus light.
