One of my ducks flewout of the pen this morning. for some reason, he wason
the road, and got hit by a car. He can flap his wings fine.but he can only
fly about 2 feet before crashing to the ground. He's having problems
walking, but his legs seem fine. they work, but he seems to have a balance
problem. When he moves, he's like a wobbling top. I am assuming his breast
bone is broken? Will it heal? He was the drake that I was going to keep
over winter for my hens. I was going to butcher my other drake for
Thanksgiving.
I suppose I should reconsider which duck becomes the table duck? Or what
are this ducks' recovery chances, and ability to breed futures? |
