Why??? The capacitor is already connected at start up (or it would
not
start up). It is disconnected by the spring loaded switch when it
gets
up to speed...

The switch is toast. The OP wants a work around.

cleaning or replacing switch/contacts would be much better than the
relay
idea...

Replacement switched are not available for this particular motor. Its
almost
30 years old.

---
"Replacement switches", don't you mean?

Yes, I fat fingered the keyboard.

---
Sorry, I didn't mean to get that critical. Mea Culpa.

No prob.

But it does look like it's going to require both a timing relay and
contactor so I would probably be ahead of the game to just invest in a new 3
phase motor.

Can't stand it, can you?

You offer what you'd like everyone to think is good advice but which
is actually shit, and then when you get called on it you rail.

Can you back up what you say with numbers?

Judging from your performance here, so far, those licenses must have
been obtained by bribery.

OK?

It became clear that his latent psychopathy was expressing itself by

BTW, that's a fat, lazy and totally ignorant AMERICAN cartoon character.

Now, I guess I can say whatever I want to about the pig-ignorant

Stalking you? You poor dumb bastard, this is a public forum where
we all play with words and you just got your dick dragged in the
dirt for being an asshole playing in a technical arena you had no
business even getting close to. If I was stalking you I'd already
have your physical address and some plans to off your sorry ass.

And, obviously, the one you most closely identify with.

Just think, you could've been Superman, even, or Clark Kent, or
Captain Marvel, or Billy Batson, or Batman, or Bruce Wayne, or
Plastic Man, or Mandrake, or one of the Blackhawks, or the
Submariner, or the Lone Ranger, or Tonto, or Red Ryder, or Little
Beaver, (I'm really, really surprised you didn't choose that one) or
Joe Blow, or Oat Willie, or Captain Pissgums, or Wonder Warthog (the
hog of steel) or even Harold Hedd (who was pretty cool and I think
was Canadian) but no... you had to choose what you most wanted to
be, and it wasn't even Spidey.

By your own admission, "a fat, lazy and totally ignorant AMERICAN
cartoon character."

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
