I started to change the current definition of economic rent in wikipedia and
realized that it was so totally wrong that it could not be salvaged. At a loss
I typed in "political economy" and found some basis for hope in this
Neocon world. So the proper definition (IMHO) of economic
rent can be found in wikipedia by looking up "economic rent (political
economy)".
I am ready to fend off all the rotten tomatoes. Just don't be zapping
my creation too fast.....
I also found that a lot of the crapola I had heard about Marx was,
uh, crapola. Not even Marx thought that a buggy whip was
worth anything without a market for buggy whips.
Political economy and the like are very new and fledgling
in wikipedia. The Austrians should stay in the "economics"
area that concerns itself with micro and the real world people
should probably contribute to political economy.
