The balance of power in washington DC has flipped fast, a year
ago it looked like the republicans via the radical christian
right and the mid west states would have an undefeatable grip
on US politics to the point that more liberal views of the
democrats would fade from the face of the earth.
It appears that desperate measures are being discussed, time
will tell if the report mentioned is accurate. there are a
few republican officials who are not happy with this crap and
apparently leaking now to the press.
(for the record I am neither a democrat nor liberal)
Republican candidates for the midterm elections have boycotted
their own president and refused his 'help' at rallies...when
GWB did show, the local republican candidates numbers fell by
3% the next day.
The public has now had it with GWB and the entire corrupt
party it seems ...
Now one of the largest agencies of the US govt, the US Govt
Accountability Office, stable across administration lines has
issued a scathing report indicating that the 2004 presidential
election was stolen ... link listed below. about 6 stories,
see the one with GAO in the title.
Night line with Ted Kopple this PM featured a scathing report
and testimony on even more ruthless prisoner abuse than what
we have seen before, organized and the same throughout the
CIA's prison system... the world is standing aghast at this
administration. Its going down fast.. and as it has fostered
and encouraged US jobs and factories to be moved to china also
the damage to the country has been staggeringly immense.
The level of fraud from Chenny, GWB, Rumsfeld and the boyz,
across the boards, and with the outing of CIA agent recently
(which would get many of those who associated with her killed)
this administration is now a rolling disaster.
The financial fraud at HUD is now over the trillion dollar
range... tens of thousands of properties going covertly into
the hands of current and ex HUD and other govt officials
including CIA people....
Conveniently though the repository of the revealing paper
trails was sadly obliterated in the 911 disaster, especially
the third building seldom mentioned where most of these
agencies reside.. building 7 of the WTC ... that building was
not hit by anything in the 911 attack... it was two blocks
away, yet fires began inside after it was carefully
evacuated... then had its interior and exterior steel columns
vaporized, and free fell into its own footprint.... destroying
all of those records.
(Fortunately there is enough left elsewhere to convict a small
army of burocrats of felonies...see the testimony of ex HUD
official Fitts, now congresswoman Fitts on this issue)

This will get messier fast. Unless the nation is distracted
with another 'terrorist' attack. Many in the republican party
though do not think there is enough trust left for GWB that
his rallying the nation due to such an attack will reverse the
fortunes of the repblican party... this was an amazing turn
around....from landslide defeats of the oposition 2 years
ago...to virtual total collapse today ..and headed farther
south fast.
This the political part of the mess...beyond that is the fact
of US industrial infrastructure going south beyond anything
that ever makes the evening news. GM and Ford bonds are junk
rated. GM alone is 246 billion dollars in the red and will
default on its pension obligations...all this as it looses
world market share, it will be second to Toyota in US sales
within two years. probably less...as it looses money, and
Toyota profits on each sale.
How will all this shake out? Not that badly actually.
about half the folks will have enough to eat and shelter if
they work themselves to death... the other half will be
scratching a lot harder than that. The US will loose its
world power status over the next 15 years... it will be forced
trade its land and natural rescourses away. This wont last
long though, if history is repeats itself as usual the US will
start climbing back out of its pit in about 100 years.
Will global warming by that time raise the sea levels 20's
taking out many US cities? No. A single volcano
erruption, large enough can put the world into an ice age.
We will probably be able engineer a few smaller ones to fine
tune the situation.
You dont see that mentioned though...but thats the mechanism
of many ice ages, volcanic erruptions put so much dust into
the air that solar energy is blocked.
It will be a very interesting 21 st Century.
