because it is very rare that 'an American'
will know Hebrew !!
(Hebrew is a language of about 4 thousand years.)
it is based on those people who lived in
'Mesopotamia'
(somewhere in todays Iraq )
and were called
'The Habiru'
they were very punctual about writing
not like me (Smile

What scientific institute would accept someone who believes that
falling objects travel in elliptical paths rather than parabolic paths?

Question 2.

a juggler is juggling 3 balls in a standard pattern.
how fast does a bird have to fly in a horizontal straight line to
collide with all 3 balls.

Jugglers hands are approx. 1 meter apart, balls reach 1 meter
higher, balls and bird are relatively small.

Based on what? How did you standardise this? By the way, the balls
/do not/ move in parabolic curves (scientific lige) but in
elliptical arcs. The bird only needs to fly slower than the
interception speed and faster than nought to hit all three balls,
just like how a broken watch can be right twice a day. (You didn't
say all three at once or once.)

I think that there are several people who've heard about the Golem
story without necessarily knowing how to speak Hebrew or being any sort
of expert on the subject of the ancient Hebrews. It's something that a
person might (or might not)come across while reading about the history
of science fiction and the subject of man-made life forms (the
Frankenstein story, artificial intelligence, etc.)

I'm not sure that it makes a particularly good insult, however.

Several million do and not just Jews. As languages go, it is not all
that hard to learn, once one gets past the alphabet.

Actually, according to cybernetics, one must ignore the substrate of a
metasystem when assessing its worth. An example - all of us think and
reason giving no attention to the substrate, 100,000,000,000 neurons.
Thus whatever Auty posts stands on it's own according to the Turing
test regardless of any characteristics of the author. Thus the whole
basis of this thread is invalid. Too bad the entire usergroup is
nothing but name-calling by a few who have nothing better to do.

yet for me as a native Israeli
it sometimes enough to hear just one word
to know with whom i am dealind ......

2 even if you are right
her interest in Hebrew and knowledge of it
has some meaning to me that seems not relevant to others
but is relevant to me .
explanations later ......

Josie is right for once, about the language not being relevant to my
knowing. I just know about golems from Nethack and then looked it up.
However, my middle name is Hebrew for bee, which is quite right on.
