The demon that's been eating Mars missions has been getting a lot of press,
but now another one has emerged. Apparently there was a glitch in
deploying Spirit's high gain antenna. Since the failure of that same
component was the big disaster on the Galileo mission, it's clearly another
focal point for problems. So now we've observed a Mars demon eating our
missions and a high gain gremlin futzing with out antennas. Fortunately
this one isn't as mean as the Mars demon. Or maybe he just lives on the
other side of the asteroid belt.
