There's always a lot of political name-calling on the eve of election
day, but we're pretty sure this one is a first. Democratic Queens
Council candidate Kevin Kim is alleging that his Republican rival
isn't just an anti-Semite — he's also a pagan. Kim's campaign is
accusing Dan Halloran of insulting Jews in his attempt to downplay the
role of blood sacrifice in the ancient Germanic religion of Theodism,
a faith in which the City Hall hopeful has risen to the title of
"'First Atheling,' or King," of a New York City area pre-Christian
group according to the Queens Tribune.

There was a discussion of Dan O on the Troth members mailing list. I
was disgusted at the treatment he receiveb by the membership of any
organization he has been very active in for many years. Dan O is
registered as an "Elder" and there currently isn't even a way to earn
that rank in the Troth.
Anyways, it's cool that a heathen is running for political office and
the general reaction is so-what. |

Looks like Dan O won the election.
On the whole, this round of elections went well. Seems like whereever
Obama campaigned, his candidate lost. With luck this trend of obama
failing to get the votes he wants will continue through 2012 |

Especially when they chainsmoke like a Dickensian smokestack. I wonder
if Obama will be the first President to leave office early over
"stress," and if so, what the cover story will be. Heh, that job ain't
as fun and easy as he thought it'd be, especially when people don't
actually kowtow to him as he's been trained to expect. |

If I was conspiratorially minded. I'd suggest the notion that Hillary
and her minions are giving Obama and his minions "advice" calculated
to torpedo his administration hard and fast. Whether they are or not,
that seems to be the result. So come 2012, will the Dems be looking
for yet another "savior," this time to save them from the Carteresque
disaster that Obama has become... and will Hillary be that savior? |

We'll see in 2012. I doubt it, though. Obama is starting to lose the support
of the Democrats who really thought something was going to change and I
don't think Clinton can reinvent herself as anything but a centrist. Should
the present trajectory hold, 2012 ain't going to be about centrism. That
little fray in upstate NY isn't the last battle in the war for the
Republican party; the RNC can move right or it can move out of the way. |
