Perhaps if you don't believe what I tell you, you'll pay attention to a
marriage analyst. The bottom line is that same-sex marriage is corrupting
America's children.

Marriage Vote in Maine Will Affect Schoolchildren

by Jenny Tyree, marriage analyst

Changing the definition of marriage would render parents powerless to shield
their children from being taught a gay-activist agenda in school.

The people of Maine will get to decide the definition of marriage on
November 3, after marriage was redefined by the state Legislature earlier
this year to include homosexual couples.

The Stand for Marriage Maine campaign has focused on the effects of gay
marriage in public schools. They didn't have to look far for examples, and
they've used them effectively in their ads. In Massachusetts, the gay
marriage law quickly led to a court case involving parents' rights. Rob and
Robin Wirthlin were told by a court that they had lost the right to be
informed when homosexuality was going to be discussed in their son's
second-grade class.

A second example came during an NPR interview with an eighth-grade teacher
in Massachusetts who was pleased to have legal cover for speaking to her
students about homosexuality. "In my mind, I know that, 'OK, this is legal
now.' If somebody wants to challenge me, I'll say, 'Give me a break. It's
legal now,' " she told NPR.

Similar to the Prop. 8 campaign in California last year, state officials in
Maine are jumping on the gay marriage bandwagon. Maine's attorney general,
Janet Mills, has stated that gay marriage will have "no impact on
educational curriculum" in Maine schools.

This is ludicrous, of course. If Question 1 passes, the marriage of one
gay-identified teacher would make it an issue in the classroom. And, just as
in Massachusetts, parents will be powerless to quiet teachers' advocacy of
gay marriage-since it would be state law.

Talk of discrimination and equality disguises what is really at stake: the
role of marriage as our most pro-child institution. Do we still believe it's
important that children are connected, whenever possible, to the mother and
father who together made them? As I've written previously, marriage is not a
legal vehicle for the purpose of equality; it's a social institution with
children at its heart.

How? As long as they are taught to mind their own business, gay marriage
should be about as much of a problem as women's basketball.

And interracial marriage. And 42 years ago, millions of racist
losers
who were JUST as ignorant and bigoted as today's homophobic idiots
were EVERY BIT as sure that the sky would fall, by its becoming legal.

And then, just as today, America was ENHANCED by the ENDING
of **excluding** people from marriage for NO good reason.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

FREEDOM is ACCELERATING!

Same-sex marriage (SSM) is REALITY in all these places, and
the list is steadily and inexorably* growing:

( * RRR Cultists: Look up "inexorable." Take it to heart.)

• Netherlands (as of 2001)
• Belgium (2003)
• Massachusetts (2004)
• Canada (2005)
• Spain (2005)
• South Africa (2005)
• Norway (2008)
• Connecticut (2008)
• New York ** (2008)
...and getting very CLOSE in 2009.
• Iowa (2009)
• Vermont (2009)
• Sweden (2009)
• New Hampshire (2009)
• Washington, D.C.** (2009)
• Maine (2009)
• New Jersey: PENDING in 2009
• Hungary: PENDING in 2009
• Albania: PENDING in 2009

• Australia: 60% of Population now SUPPORTS it!
• Britain: 61% of Population now SUPPORTS it!

** New York State, Rhode Island, Washington, D.C.,
France, and Israel now recognize gay marriages
for couples legally married outside of the
state/district/country.

Gender composition is IRRELEVANT. Expect this to be the case
in almost ALL of the world within a few more years, as its societies
continue to OUTGROW and REJECT mindless bigotries.

The bigots have *already* LOST, and the RATE of their loss
is accelerating. A few years from now, SSM will be legal in ALL
50 states, and people will look back at them and their agenda, and
both will very properly be recalled with the *same* DERISION that
we now hold for the Segregationists and *their* EXTINCT agenda.

The same arguments against gay marriage were used against
interracial marriage. And they are as silly now as they were
then.

Precisely. The vast majority of DOLTISH bigots are too
bone-IGNORANT to LEARN how moronic and socially-retarded
they truly are.

"Affect" does not mean "corrupt." Personally, I agree that it will
affect children -- in a positive way, by opening their minds.

And in a negative way by exposing them to and encouraging their
participation in a life-style

Homosexuality is not a choice, end of story.

Of course it is. That's been well proven by the number of people who
have willingly abandoned the homosexual lifestyle and return to the
normalcy of heterosexual life.

Statement of Apology from Former Exodus Leaders
Darlene Bogle, Michael Bussee, and Jeremy Marks

June 27, 2007

Los Angeles, CA

"As former leaders of ex-gay ministries, we apologize to those
individuals and families who believed our message that there is
something inherently wrong with being gay, lesbian, bisexual, or
transgender. Some who heard our message were compelled to try to
change an integral part of themselves, bringing harm to themselves and
their families. Although we acted in good faith, we have since
witnessed the isolation, shame, fear, and loss of faith that this
message creates. We apologize for our part in the message of broken
truth we spoke on behalf of Exodus and other organizations.

"We call on other former ex-gay leaders to join the healing and
reconciliation process by adding their names to this apology.

"We encourage current leaders of ex-gay programs to have the courage
to evaluate the fruit of their programs. We ask them to consider the
long-term effects of their ministry."

From Michael Bussee's personal apology
(http://www.beyondexgay.com/article/busseeapology):

"[N]ot one of the hundreds of people we counseled became straight.

"Instead, many of our clients began to fall apart – sinking deeper
into patterns of guilt, anxiety and self-loathing. Why weren’t they
“changing”? The answers from church leaders made the pain even worse:
“You might not be a real Christian.” “You don’t have enough faith.”
“You aren’t praying and reading the Bible enough.” “Maybe you have a
demon.” The message always seemed to be: “You’re not enough. You’re
not trying hard enough. You don’t have enough faith.”

"Some simply dropped out and were never heard from again. I think
they were the lucky ones. Others became very self-destructive. One
young man got drunk and deliberately drove his car into a tree.
Another (a fellow leader of the ex-gay movement) told me that he had
left EXODUS and was now going to straight bars – looking for someone
to beat him up. He said the beatings made him feel less guilty –
atoning for his sin. One of my most dedicated clients, Mark, took a
razor blade to his genitals, slashed himself repeatedly, and then
poured drain-cleaner on the wounds—because after months of celibacy he
had a “fall.”

"In the midst of all of this, my own faith in the EXODUS movement was
crumbling. No one was really becoming “ex-gay.” Who were we fooling?
As one current EXODUS leader admitted, we were just “Christians with
homosexual tendencies who would rather not have those tendencies.” By
calling ourselves “ex-gay” we were lying to ourselves and to others.
We were hurting people."

Of course it was later revealed that he received a VERY LARGE sum of
cash from the Homosexual Defense League (HDL) for saying that. He
admitted to a number of close heterosexual friends that it was all a lie
and done for no other reason than to cop the money.

Society, like water, needs to move and change to remain fresh. To keep
it from doing so is to allow it to become stagnant and malodorous. The
religious right would have us all living in a swamp to assuage their own
fears.
