" For He says, "In an acceptable time I heard you, and in a day of salvation, I helped
you;" Behold, now is the accepted time. Behold, now is the day of salvation. "
2 Cor. 6:2

******************************************************************************************************

the Apostle Paul, quoting from Isa. 49:8 is referring to Messiah Jesus...

" So says the LORD, in a favorable time I replied to You, and in a day of salvation I have
helped You; and I will preserve You, and give You for a covenant of the people, to
establish the earth, to cause them to inherit the wasted inheritances;

that You may say to the prisoners, Go out! To those who are in darkness, Show yourselves!
They shall feed in the ways, and their pastures shall be in all high places. "

since none other than Christ Jesus is the given for a covenant of the people, who alone is
appointed by God Eternal to set free the prisoners of Satan, sin and death, we are time
and time again directed to Him for our redemption, canceling out any idea that man has any
ability in and of himself so as to condition God to save him by some decision to " accept
Jesus as his Lord and Savior. "

the idea of " accepting Jesus as one's Lord and Savior " mean's man co-redeems himself.
that would give glory to man for his intellectual ability, his personal achievement to do
the right thing towards God, all the while openly admitting those impaired of mind are
left behind... the gospel for the smart only; the gospel of co-redemption.

the gospel of salvation by grace alone, being that it is completely unconditional, causes
in man such a disdain towards the speaker, that to be stripped of recognition for his
contribution to his own salvation, that Christ's hearers tried to throw Him over a cliff
as recorded in Luke chapter 4. rejected, bitter, sullen man hates any doctrine that
doesn't give him at least part of the glory.

God bypassed all those keeping the Law of Moses and brought unmerited favor on two heathen
Gentiles. in like manner, Isa. 49 speaks of God bringing in His elect from among all the
nations of the world through Messiah Jesus. it is God who makes Jesus Christ a covenant
of the people and Paul's reference is to that effect as he addresses his readers at
Corinth, a church people beset by weakness.

the co-redeemer's find passages referring to the grace of God as meaning rather an
invitation to assist Christ in a salvation which is provided by God as being " freely
bestowed. " ( Eph. 1:6 NASV ) the Bible bears witness that salvation is unconditional by
its recording of at least 4 prophets having been elect unto salvation while yet fetuses.

this confounds every idea that one must earn the grace of God through some act or acts of
Law, decision making, altar calls, sinner's prayer's, ceremonies and whatever else the
framer's of man made gospels can devise. the test of any interpretation of a salvation
verse is in the answering of the question... " who gets the glory ? " if Christ is Savior
then man is wholly excluded from any participation in his salvation other than being the
unworthy recipient... He is " found of them did not seek Him. "

" I became known to those who did not ask after Me, " ( Ro. 10:20 ) cancels out any idea
that " making a decision for Christ; asking Jesus to come into one's heart, " and the
like is just a self glory seeking gospel.

" Salvation belongs to the LORD. " ( Ps. 3:8 ) eternal life comes from the One who has
it to the one who doesn't have it, lest while we were dead in sin we spoke ourselves into
the kingdom of God thereby creating our own salvation.

this does not negate man's responsibility to repent and believe the gospel. man is dead
is sin and the gospel is a spiritual call. man does not hear this spiritual call because
he is spiritually dead to the God of the living. ( Eph. 2:12; 4:18; Col. 2:13 ) he is not
about to turn to God because he finds the things of God " foolishness " and therefore
the elect do not boast in themselves since the faith they are given, which is the proof of
salvation, is " the faith of Christ " ( Gal. 2:16 ) by the grace of God. Eph. 2:8,9.
