American Airlines will eliminate 700 jobs when it closes a maintenance
base and shuts or scales back five other stations as shrinking airline
fleets have reduced work. U.S. Airways will cut 1,000 jobs as it
drops almost half of its daily flights from Las Vegas and suspends
Philadelphia service to five European cities. |
