We love this ionizer, I use it in my kitchen when cooking meat to keep the smell of grease out. I also use it in my 11 year old sons bedroom to take away the smell of stinky little boys. Will be buying another to use so I don't have to keep moving the one I have around. Would recommend this to a friend.
I may be a smoker but I don't like myself or my place smelling like smoke so I got one of these a few years ago since the price was right and the design is nice and unobtrusive . I must say It seems to have worked pretty well, although not always completely silent (it made buzzing sounds sometimes) I rarely noticed smoke odor in my home or on my clothes. Then one day I noticed it was no longer working with no warning it just died, I cleaned the collection plate fairly regularly and everything. It just stopped. I went out and bought something at the store that had a filter, a fan and claimed to have and ionizer. I don't like it at all, it seems to just blow smoke around and I'm going to get a new ionizer soon. Maybe I'll get one of these again, not sure I'm going to shop around a bit first.
Without a fan or filter the Heaven Fresh XJ2000 purifies polluted indoor air by using next generation technology and generating large quantities of negative ions using its solid state electronic circuitry. These health beneficial negative ions magnetically attract to floating particles, causing them to become too heavy to remain airborne. As a result, they settle out of the air, so they can no longer be inhaled. The negative ions also cause particles to attract to the conductive collector plate located inside the unit. The XJ-2000 uses 17 stainless steel, ion-producing electrodes to produce a high density of negative ions (up to one million per cubic centimeter). In addition, the XJ-2000 produces moderate and safe levels of Ozone (O3), as a by-product of the ionization process. When an ozone molecule encounters a pollutant, one of its oxygen atoms breaks away from the other two, reacting with pollutant. This single oxygen atom is a powerful oxidant, and destroys the contaminant, removing its toxicity and odor-causing properties. Depending on the size of the room, and the ventilation, it will produce about 0.015 to 0.05 ppm (parts per million) of ozone, which is well within FDA and
