I was reading Still the Mind by Alan Watts, I also listened to one of
his lectures. I was in a pretty good frame of mind last night. Anyway
he was talking about awakening, how we all walk around in a delusion.
What's weird is I understood this last night, now it's gone. I had an
what could be called awakened moment and I really understood it all. I
went a bed contented. When I awoke this morning it was gone. I wonder
what it could have been.

Was it a religious experience? I have never experienced anything like
it before. Probably came close on psychedics, but I was stone cold
sober last night. Strange. But Cool.

If you need a lable try "false alarm."

See if it happens again. If it repeats, you can study it in more depth
each time. If it doesn't, well, don't worry too much about it: it was
just another cool experience.

My experience is that there are certainly "peak" moments, which are,
naturally, followed by less lofty ones, or even downright troughs.
Don't get discouraged by the troughs, and don't get too excited by the
peaks. Easier said than done, I know. Keep doing whatever it is you're
doing, as that's obviously what got you to where you are now: and have
confidence that by doing it you will keep going. If you enjoy
Theravada-style lists, maybe you'll find the one called the "five
spiritual faculties" useful.

Cheers,
Florian
