Let me put it this way: you can't go berefoot or without a shirt
into a resteraunt so i'd think going nude would fall into the same
category.  (You've seen the signs "No shirt No shoes No service.")

They seem to have no problem with Korean Spas (in the United States)
with Health Codes.  Most Korean spas have at least in some parts of
the spa separated sex nude bathing areas.

Getting back to the physical reality, whether or not one wears trunks,
it's the same bodies cooking in the same water. If I won't get in a
hot tub with someone whose nude because I'm concerned for my health, I
won't be mollified if that same person puts something on.

That's about aesthetics, not health.

Show me a cite of the health code that specifically allows
nudity.  In fact show me where the decency laws allow nudity.
Around here in this part of the US of A you'd get arrested
for indecent exposure.

We were talking about health reasons not decency reasons for banning
nudity at a gym this lady said she goes to.

I have already said I was surprised (and find it hard to believe) that
she can just go swim naked in the local spa at her gym as she said in
her blog. She said " The reactions I get
from other women, especially the crones, are of delight. They accept
my explanation that I’ve saving my suit from wear and tear. "

She doesn't mention men at the spa. Nor reading it again carefully
does she say she swims in the pool but instead she says spa. Does she
mean like a hot tub in a separated sex area of the gym? Wouldn't call
that swimming. And still given this day and age I could see some
complaints even if there were only females around.

But again, you stressed health reasons. And I see no reasons why this
would be a problem health wise. And you mentioned local health codes
but like I said you go to a Korean spa (in the US even) and most of
them have mandatory nude areas (always separated by sex) and they
don't have problems with the health codes. And then of course you have
nudist places where people use the pools and hot tubs nude and they
still have to meet local health codes.

So, while of course there would be other issues relating to this,
health codes shouldn't be one of them. In fact many people feel that
swimming suits dirty the water with detergent and stuff.

Which corner of the US of A are you talking about? I am pretty good

Of course it doesn't fall into the same category.

Certain restaurants have no problem serving people without shoes or
shirts.

Around here in this part of the US of A it's the health
department that has the problem and they have the
power to shut them down.

Agreed. But I think a spa would be different. Again we are only
talking about health reasons. Obviously I find it hard to believe that
she can go naked swimming at her local gym with the women there not
having a problem. But I don't see a health reason.

Anna....we are talkin bout opposite sex nudity in rec nude right.....

In this case I am not sure.

Here is what she said on her blog:

When I think of a local gym I think of co-ed - males and females. But
she only mentions the reactions she gets from females. Even if we
assume that it's a female only gym (or perhaps a female only spa
section) I would still think there would be females who have a problem
with it. It sounds like the other females there don't join her in
swimming in the nude.

well times have changed as i personally would not like to go to a ymca
or other town facilities and swim or hot tub nude with males
only....but days of yore was different or i thought it was....but of
course women never did swim nude at ywca as i remember.....probably
because there were male maintenance and other male personel
there...although women in the past were either attached to a male or
living with kin and did not travel at all alone....of course now women
are going it alone like men....and i suppose they just go to their
hotel rooms after dining or maybe a movie but even going to movies you
dont see single females past twenty or so that looks like they are
traveling or away from home.....i guess the hotel bars have quite a
few though and the gym if they have one.....jz

They don't have any gyms where you are where there are segregated
women's and men's spas? And you really think that it would be less
sanitary to have someone's dirty body without swimwear than someone's
dirty body wrapped in dirty swimwear?

You are, at worst, an idiot. More likely you are an ignore-worthy troll.

That's not a universal policy, and it certainly is not a health code
related policy.

Sadly, it usually is. There are generally health codes in most US cities
prohibiting shirtless and shoeless people from patronizing restaurants.
I am unaware of any rules requiring pants, oddly enough.

You really do have a problem in understanding how laws work. Laws list the
things that are prohibited, not those that are allowed. Anyway the OP was
talking about swimming at a spa. Whether nudity is allowed there or not is a
matter for the management.
