The remnant is not any particular denomination.
In fact, the thousands of denominations do not
even know the real Gospel, but rather generally
profess faith alone in Christ alone and then tell
people to be saved by faith plus repentance.
And then the few denominations who actually
do tell people to be saved by faith alone then
tell them such faith comes thru means of grace,
including baptism (including infant baptism) and
sacrament, so that people just trust in their own
"righteousness" anyway (their baptism such as
infant baptism, and their taking the sacrament).
The remnant are those who are scattered among
the thousands of denominations and worldwide
who have salvation by faith alone in Christ alone,
the only way salvation ever comes. Christ enables
the remnant to do those things that are definitely
to be done, such as repentance, baptism, church,
sacrament, giving, deeds, endurance, but without
trusting those for salvation because all trust must
be on Christ alone for anyone to be saved.
Christ enables the remnant to trust in him alone for
salvation by showing them that he is their Righteous
Substitute who took their place on the cross to be
their righteousness and salvation so that they could
have eternal life. Because Christ is their Substitution,
the remnant have absolutely no trust in their own
"righteousness" (as from repentance, baptism,
church, sacrament, endurance) but rather only
on Christ to take their place in the sight of God.
Just as Christ had those that were to be his disciples
in the right place at the right time for his coming into
the world, so Christ has his remnant right where he
wants them today so that those who know the real
Gospel may reach others of his remnant at the time
and in the way that he wants them to be reached.
Christ uses his relatively small remnant of a few million
to do what the thousands of denominations with all
their resources and programs and hundreds of millions
of people can never do. The remnant reaches those
that Christ has appointed to salvation and for Rapture
with the Gospel that saves, while the denominations
with their false "gospels", and those few that cloud up
the real Gospel, cause people to feel they are saved so
that those people shut out the real Gospel.
