Let's face it those who won't touch the untouchables don't do it out
of servitude to any particular God- they do so out of conforming to
society to appear respectable.
But what is respectability? It is what you think your neighbours think
of you. And does that really matter, isn't it much more important to
be true to yourself?
I'm not dead set against the idea of caste or class myself. What I do
believe in is a concept of nobility that is distinct from both
material wealth and social status.
Those who show prejudice against a person just because of somebody has
told them to rather than taking the time to find out themselves are
ignorant. For instance , do you trust that *others* have correctly
classified the class or caste of a person , rather than just fiddled
the system for their own earthly gains? |
