The Magician's Reflection: A Complete Guide to Creating Personal
Magical Symbols & Systems by Bill Whitcomb © 2008 Immanion
Press ISBN 978-1-905713-23-3 385 pages Paperback $21.99 (U.S.)

Much like Crowley’s 777 this book is intended as a master reference.
It contains massive amounts of information, on multiple
correspondences. Unlike 777 however it includes exercises to help the
user integrate the information into a workable system, unique to each
individual.

This re-issue (it was originally published in 1999) is one of, if not
the most comprehensive dictionaries of symbolism I have ever seen.
Quite obviously, it is just not possible to “read” it. You refer to
it. You expand your concepts and ideas.

If that were all was then the first half of this book would be well
worth the cover price. But when you add the second half, which is
designed to help you create personal symbols and rituals, you have
added immeasurably to the value. It contains enough information to
help the aspiring gain a level of comfort with his/her experience.

This truly is a desk-top reference work. With this book at hand it is
ALMOST unnecessary to have a teacher (almost, but not quite,
unnecessary). There will always be unexpected happenings, for which
personal interaction is important.

If you decide to have only one major reference book for magickal
working at hand, this is the book you want, regardless of your level
of experience. It will help you as you start your path, encourage you
as you progress, and remind you of your goal if you begin to settle
into a routine. It doesn’t contain all the answers, by any means, but
it contains what you need to find the answers. As an added bonus, it
is written in an easy-to-understand style, and in simple language.
You won’t get bogged down by esoteric mumbo jumbo. It is informative
and a pleasure to read
