85% are already insured. We are happy with our health insurance. this
bill is all for 4 percent (after you deduct the undocumented aliens,
those who do not want care, and those who are not insured because they
are between jobs but will be picked up soon) who are not insured and to
throw out the coverage enjoyed by 85 percent who have it. the bill is
flawed in that regard. if you want to insure those who have no
coverage, then direct the bill only to them and leave the rest of us
alone. |

Ignorance is always a bliss, isn't it ?
Just consider the fact that a WHO study about health care around the
world ranked US barely #37 however
we spend per capita for health care more than twice as #1 France. As
mater of fact, US trail countries spending
per capita almost 1/5 from what we spend.
In US there are about 850000 personal bankruptcies as a direct result
of illnesses. The large majority of medical bankruptcies are in
privately insured people. The system is just not working properly for
anyone who is not healthy above average.
Keep in mind, that in ALL Western Europe (a population about the same
as US) there is NOT A SINGLE personal bankruptcy due to illnesses. An
European when is sick, he goes to the doctor and get healthy
regardless of his income. In US 46000 die each years just because
they can not afford health care.
And there is the big issue of health care rationalization. Unless to
the lies spread by the insurance industry, the private insurers impose
much more care rationalization than the worst government run plan in
Europe.
The rationalization in private sector came in various forms, so weak
minds fail to see it. The most common forms of rationalizations are:
- uncovered procedures, deemed as "experimental" despite the fact that
some of them are practiced from....1950s or even earlier. But if the
procedure is too expensive, the bureaucrats from private industry just
label it as experimental and they are not going to pay for.
- bureaucratic "review" of doctor orders. If a procedure recommended
by your doctor it is too expensive, a faceless bureaucrat from the
private industry decide that "your doctor is wrong, that procedure
will not help you" and he deny it.
The denial it is not based on any medical statistic or study but just
on the greed of the businessmen to increase profit.
- arbitrary set yearly limits. Without any consideration for your
health conditions, they can impose an yearly cap which if you exceed,
they will not cover anymore for the rest of the year.
- refusal for coverage of existing preconditions. This criminal
practice it is so widespread and harmful that any mentally sane person
consider it a crime against humanity. This does not happen in ANY
other civilized country.
- keeping a large portion of people in need out of medical system. The
large pool of uninsured over 46 million uninsured out of 300 M it is
15.33% not 4%. But math literacy is hard to come by in some circles.
And many more... But for the average ignorant all the facts does not
matter. They never read or are interested to learn the truth. They
just listen to conservative talk shows and believe that lies, hatred
and brainwashing corporate PR is the normality. |

that's exactly what it is doing, moron. This is just an insurance
option for those who cannot afford private insurance. Nobody is
mandating anything for anyone who already has insurance Anything
else is just a pack of lies bought and paid for by the insurance
industry who is desperate to kill ANY insurance reform. |

By contrast, in most European all doctors are "in-network".

By contrast, in Europe you are automatically covered for any medical

All insurance is socialist. Why should my premiums pay for your
hospitalization?
One day you filthy socialists and your insurance companies will be
driven out of this country and back to commieland where you belong. |

if you want and like socialized medicine, this is for you. have a good
life if your congressperson and the government says you can. i want my
freedom to choose my doctor, health coverage and medications without
some person telling me what i can and cannot do. as the slogan of new
hampshire goes, "live free or die". i say, live free. the undemocrats
say, die.
And if your idea of america is that you get everything in all government
handouts without having to lift a finger, without any responsibility for
your own life and without the careful responsibility of health
providers, then this bill is for you, but it should not be for those who
have our own insurance.
i am trying to find or think of a place in this country where one can be
free and live as we used to, perhaps that is too much to ask, too much
to want for all my life's work and that of my family's, too nostalgic.
To think that now we are inundated with illegal aliens for whom we must
provide coverage according to the undemocratic party, and that they have
the freedom to ruin cities according to the aclu and the other hispanic
groups, and to think that we can no longer walk or drive in the streets
in safety. that is what many urban and suburban areas have become, and
now the center piece of the obamacare destruction of this country ia to
take away your health coverage and give you what the government says you
can have, if any at all. Sic semper tyrannis. sic gloria transit. |

I don't think you can call me stupid when there are several hundred
undemocratic party members who call themselves representatives of the
electorate about to pass a 1.3 trillion insurance bill that will do
nothing to help quality health care, and is not expected to cover
everyone anyway. why don't they direct their bills only to those who do
not have coverage. because they want to control the rest of us, and
because they are mao marxist to the core. live free ot die. i say live
free. the undemocratic congress says - die. |

Guess what, a large majority of Americans want affordable health care.
A majority even support some form of public option.
The tea-party participants and other fundamentalist fanatics are just
a vocal minority.
And when a minority overrules majority, the democracy is lost and the
path to tyranny is wide open.
Sorry, Minerva. You are on the wrong side of the fence. |
