CNN is famous for its incessant coverage of missing/dead white women/
girls, so I thought it was unusual that they reported a story about a
missing black woman today.
My guess is that CNN has decided to demonstrate its racial sensitivity
by setting a quota for missing black women stories, perhaps one for
every hundred reports on missing white women.
Still, CNN's newfound racial sensitivity does not mean that Nancy
Grace will be talking about this case for the next six months, because
dead little white Caylee Anthony generates much higher ratings.
Oddly, although I saw the report on the CNN television channel earlier
today, I can't seem to find it on the CNN website, though it does
contain a report on a 9-year-old white girl who was just murdered, as
well as a fascinating story about Tyra Banks losing 30 pounds. |

Natalie Holloway story as riveting news everytime
there was an embarrassing story about Bush or
Cheney in the news. Funny that THEY only covered
cases of missing white girls. Why is that, do you
think? |

To be honest, it means that Americans don't care about missing black
girls. And the Natalie Holloway story was heavily covered by CNN as
well as Fox, and even Oprah's good friend and mental health guru, Dr.
Phil, tried to exploit Natalie Holloway's mysterious disappearance by
claiming she had been abducted by an international sex slavery ring. |
