I live in the city of Adelaide, in South Australia.
At the moment, we are facing a major water crisis (lack of) in South
Australia. If we don’t do something about it now, we’re going to be
facing a catastrophe like nothing we’ve ever seen. To those of you
that are unaware, South Australia is the driest state in the driest
continent on earth. I have looked into our water problems in depth,
and there are some ideas/proposals I want our state and federal
government to at least investigate. At the moment, I would like to
post a letter online so that various South Australian/Australian
residents could make a copy of this letter, and send it to their local
Federal MPs (Member of Parliament), along with other relevant
politicians and government departments. I am hoping that the
government gets overwhelmed with correspondence relating to these
issues. I cannot stress how urgent this matter is.
What is the best way of going about getting a petition/multiple
correspondence into action? |

Too many people already!
Keeping a population in equilibrium with the
environment to achieve sustainability, is an issue
that must be addressed. Continuous net immigration
nullifies the environmental policies needed for
quality of life and national survival.

In that case you should know that Australia is not the driest
continent by any common measure. If you measure by area then
Antarctica has significantly less renewable water than Australia and
beats Australia into last place. If you take the more useful figure
of renewable water per head of population then Australia ranks even
higher. I can't give you the figure because my source
<http://earthtrends.wri.org/pdf_library/data_tables/wat2_2005.pdf>
omits continental totals. However, it shows that, by country,
Australia has one of the highest quantities of renewable water
resources per capita in the world. We have ten times the amount
available in the United Kingdom or China and twice the amount
available in the United States.

SA Water believe they have the problem in hand for the next 20 years
<http://www.sawater.com.au/NR/rdonlyres/83B05A2E-A3F0-48EE-A640-CA5521A227C0/0/WPA_Strategy.pdf>
so you will need to demonstrate that they are wrong and/or that your
proposal is better. If the matter is urgent why have you delayed
putting your proposal on a web site? Action will follow only if you
convince enough people of the merit of your proposal and you can't do
that if nobody knows what it is. |

Politicians once elected have many agendas of their own to address. They
have no time for you. In the meantime you should consider wiping your arse
with sand every you finish shitting. There are plenty of sand in the arid
regions of South Australia..

It occurred to me that my other follow up to your post was not
constructive and the reason that you have not done this may be because
you do not know how to. If you already have the text of your letter go
to <http://www.google.com/sites/help/intl/en/overview.html> and watch
the video. You will be able to complete the job in half an hour and it
is free. |
