Just caught a news cast that Obama won the Nobel Prize for Peace.

Of course he was nominated after only being in office for two weeks and
hadn't actually had time to do anything (save for changing color of the
drapes in the Oval Office and have some new microphones installed), but
who's counting, eh?

This is the first I've heard of it. Well, that lowers the level. They
give the peace prize for talking now?

Now, folks, if Sarah Palin had won based upon her perception of Russia
from her back yard, the right would be clucking like hens.

The award reveals the beginning of a new era in American diplomacy and
demonstrates a positive and supportive international view of a new
nation after the disaster of the past eight years.

Do you have any idea for what reason(s) the Prize is awarded for?!? It
certainly isn't for "beginning of a new era in American diplomacy".

What, if anything, did The One accomplish in the 11-12 days he was in office
that warranted his nomination?

OSLO – President Barack Obama won the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize on Friday
in a stunning decision designed to build momentum behind his
initiatives to reduce nuclear arms, ease tensions with the Muslim
world and stress diplomacy and cooperation rather than unilateralism.

Certainly sounds like a new era to me after eight years of Bozo W.
Bush.

Oh my goodness, he built momentum for an initiative and stressed diplomacy
and cooperation. Sounds like the stuff of legends. Seems to me that
intention is more worthy than deeds these days. So, if I "intend" to get
outta bed, but fail to do so, I still get paid, right?

Funny thing is, even after 9 months in office, Obama -still- hasn't done a
damned thing worthy of so much as an Atta-boy. Although, he has committed
several Oh-Shits during that same time frame.

But you're not the President; he is. He got the award; you didn't.

Maybe you can get on the Nobel committee next time - or maybe you can
even send them a strongly worded letter objecting to his award.

Until hell freezes over, though, he got the award and deserved it in
the opinions of the commitee and many other citizens of the world.

Your objections mean.......squat.
