Dances with Smurfs: South Park parody of Glenn Beck...

The latest episode of South Park pokes fun at Glenn Beck. Eric
Cartman is given the job of reading the morning announcements, and
uses his position as pundit to attack the class president, Wendy
Testaberger, by asking important questions such as if she really is a
slut.

When Cartman first started the 'talk radio' thing on the mic I thought they
was doing a "Rush Limbaugh" parody. With Cartman being overweight and Rush
being associated with his days being overweight. After that I could see the
parody fit any talk show host including Beck, Hannity or any number of talk
show hosts on both sides of the aisle. It was with Beck references (the
logo, blackboard & weeping) that it beomes a Beck parody.

I think M&T should have kept it generic for a broader theme rather than go
for the Beck factor. Another opportunity missed IMHO.

At least it was smurfs in lieu of crab people. Wink
