Schools particpate in Holocaust Remembrance Service
In May, 300 invited guests, students and Holocaust survivors together
honoured and remembered the names of those victims who perished in the
Holocaust .
Students lit candles of remembrance and read the names and personal
details of hundreds of Holocaust victims. One million Jewish children
were murdered in the Holocaust.
The name reading ceremony Unto every person there is a name is held in
conjunction with the Sydney Jewish Museum and forms part of the annual
NSW Jewish Board of Deputies Shoah commemoration events.
Speaking to the crowd, NSW Minister for Education Verity Firth said
we should always be mindful of how we can effectively communicate the
lessons of the Holocaust.
