So much for "coat-tails":
-
NEW JERSEY:
GOP candidate Christie, who was outspent 3-1, was just elected.
Despite a massive push by the national Democrat party to prop up the
dem Corzine.
VIRGINIA:
The GOP candidate McConnell, with strong support from independents,
just won the (previously blue) state. The governor spot was one of
three races in Virginia - Governor, Lt. Governor and Attorney General
- all won today by Republicans.
NY-23:
(stay tuned, no Republican in this race)
-
Save a tree.

Did you know there was also a special election in CA-10? Conservative
Democrat Ellen Tauscher has accepted an appointment to the State
Department, and before she took office, the district was solidly
Republican.
*Progressive* Democrat John Garamendi is leading that election by a
solid 10 points. So there will be one less Blue Dog in Congress.
Doug Hoffman may well win in NY-23, but this is a district that has
sent Republicans to Congress since the Civil War. Hoffman seems like
a nice guy, but he doesn't know squat about the issues in his district
(which he does not live in, btw). He's a cipher - if he is elected,
he will not get any traction on *anything* on his agenda. |

You left out the results of the New York 23rd and California
10th Congressional District elections. I wonder why? |
