When I was in Japan during the last conflict in Afghanistan (1979-82),
I met a Afghani whose mission was to buy electronics for the
insurgents in Afghanistan. I had a business card that said "Merrill
Lynch Securities Company" on it, and I guess his English wasn't so
good because he said, "Oh, you are a security agent".
I wonder how much control the Pakistani Government has over their
ports, and how easy it is to swap electronics bound for the Taliban
with better electronics from the CIA? The CIA needs to get good at
faux packaging so that electronics from the U.S. have all the
appearance of originating in JAPAN. |
