Let the will of the people be law, whatever the results of the referendum
are. Fanatics want the will of the government. It's time for America to show
the world that we are truly a democracy.

Poll: Maine Voters Favor Marriage
Over half of Maine voters say they are in favor of repealing the state's
same-sex "marriage" law.
A Public Policy Polling survey finds 51 percent plan to vote for the repeal
Tuesday, up from two weeks ago when a similar poll showed 48 percent
favoring marriage between one man and one woman.
Mark Mutty, campaign chair of Stand for Marriage Maine, said the battle is
significant.
"Thirty states have voted on this issue and have maintained traditional
marriage," he told Fox News. "Ultimately, in a race like this, the decisive
factor is who comes out to the polls."

That would be people like you.

You do not want to face the fact that equal rights should NEVER be
subject to the will of the people, or they are not rights, and the
people are not equal.
That would mean that the referendum is voted DOWN, and that homosexual
couples get the right to get married. Otherwise, the headline will
read "Maine Voters Deny Marriage and Equal Rights for its Citizens".

So, they are AGAINST marriage, not in favor of it. The headline was
wrong from the start.

Which means that it is still a tossup.

Too bad he does not stand for marriage, but against it. He wants to
deny marriage to single adult couples that want to get married.

Hopefully, the people who ACTUALLY support marriage as a right for
EVERYONE make it out to the polls in greater numbers, and the
referendum is repealed so that homosexuals couples can get married.

And many would still vote for segregation if given the chance. Many did
vote amendments to state constitutions during the civil rights movement to
continue segregation. Civil rights and liberties aren't for the ballot box.
They were designed to protect minorities from majority oppression.

The US is not a democracy. The US is a Constitutionally Defined
Republic that utilizes certain democratic principles. Civil Rights
are not subject to mob rule. |

So if the "will of the people" is to remove religious

What rights would SSM confer only to homosexuals,
then?

Put your money where your mouth is, hypocrite.
As for the people in Maine, and marriage -- the Maine
residents who REALLY favor marriage are all of those who
do NOT hatefully seek to EXCLUDE people from it for such
SPECIOUS "reasons" as gender composition.
Those are the INTELLIGENT Mainers.
The *opposite* ones are the Mainiacs.
