on the Middle East.

There are encouraging signs coming from the Democrats, prodded
somewhat by Republican Lamar Alexander. Eight years late, we might
actually begin hugely investing in ZERO GREENHOUSE GAS EMISSIONS
efficient nuclear power. In hindsight, that is what we should have
done after September 11, 2001. But maybe now is not too late. If
we put our technical might into developing nuclear power, we can
end our dependence on the Middle East. Or maybe everyone is
satisfied with inexpensive gas, so we no longer give a damn about
fighting unnecessary wars?

This is a chance for Obama and the Democrats to make a huge
improvement in our world, or dig us further into the quagmire of
Afghanistan. This is IMO Obama's defining moment.
