Every thirty years or so, one party or the other takes a huge hit at the
polls. The Republicans are still licking their wounds from last
November and the Democrats will not soon forget the 1994 landslide the
Republicans enjoyed.

But now with 24/7 news and an exploding information age, the 30 year
cycles can now come every election.

The American people are going through a change the likes of which has
not been seen since the end of WWII, and those who gage that change
the best will come out the other side with a huge majority of the
nation’s minds.

But it looks as if the “next round” of “blow outs” will be against the
Democrats and their incumbents and new candidates. The best place to
watch what is shaping up as a major defeat for the Democrats in 2012 is
Senate Majority Leader and five-time elected Nevada Senator, Harry Reid.

Reid has been flying below the radar in Nevada politics since the early
1960’s and is well known for his many tightly contested and close
victories on his way to Majority Leader in the U.S. Senate.

But, like so much of the country, the demographics of Nevada are
changing rapidly and it appears that Senator Reid’s days are numbered
even though he is the senate’s leader.

Not unlike another Senate Majority Leader, South Dakota’s Tom Daschle,
Reid faces an uphill climb in a state whose politics have vastly changed
with the temperament of the electorate.

For instance, Senator Reid has turned a deft ear to the outcry of his
state that is opposed to a public option in health care reform being
debated in both houses. Yesterday, Sen. Reid declared his support for
such a bill that would include that in the final draft!

Furthermore, in a state with high unemployment, he acknowledged that a
plan to charge a tax on expensive health insurance plans has been
changed to include family plans worth more than $23,000 per year,
instead of $21,000. Those taxes and others required to fund the $6
billion public option will be collected from ALL states, including those
that opt out of the plan.

This in itself is a small reason that the tide of the American people is
beginning to change since President Obama took the oath of office in
January. The Democrats have become out of touch in nine short months!

As the American people begin to see more and more the inner workings of
Obama’s supporters in congress, the outcry is beginning to get louder by
the day.

Whether it is the Stimulus Package Bill that passed earlier t his year
now floundering with little if any results (according to most
economists) or the proposed energy legislation that will add billions to
the cost of energy, Americans are taking a fresh look at the
administration and its policies.

Reid called the opt-out plan “the fairest way to go at this stage”.
Meanwhile, the senate plans to begin debating a health care package
soon.

But it was only last Sunday on “60 Minutes” that the American people got
an eyeful concerning the rampant waste and corruption of the Medicare
system in this country. The reporter, Steve Kroft., meticulously ran
through interview after interview with responsible government officials
and scammers themselves providing startling graft in that 40 year-old
health care system.

Now, with little or no real educating of the public in general, the
Obama Administration, in the midst of the biggest recession in 60
years, proposes a new government bureaucracy that will cost a trillion
extra dollars to administer. This while Medicare is wasting billions
yearly! Yet there is no outcry anywhere in congress to fix that
first.

To call this lunacy and jumping the gun for the sake of being able to
say they have accomplished something, this administration and its
leaders are now leading America to a place that we may never return
intact!

No one is debating Senator Reid or House Speaker Pelosi that there is a
serious crisis in properly caring for our 300 million legal citizens,
but this project has taken on a political life of its own.

This has become a debate of the right vs. the left instead of what will
work and can be paid for with what we have right now!

It’s a situation that is not eluding Americans.

And one of the questions that no one on either side of the debate wants
to answer for fear of losing votes is the illegal immigration problem
and health care. Are American taxpayers going to be held to pay for 40
millions illegal aliens that presently live on American soil?

How can any plan or plans be voted on or passed without addressing this
massive problem? Yet, the left screams “racism” if anyone even mentions
illegal aliens.

The president in his now infamous “liar” speech to a joint session of
congress stated in no uncertain tones that “no taxpayer money would be
spent on illegal aliens for health care reform.

Apparently what our president forgot to tell Americans, as a scholar of
constitutional law, is our current federal laws on illegal aliens will
allow the Supreme Court to overrule any attempt to prevent illegals from
taxpayer funded health care!

Americans are waking up to see the deficit three times larger than when
George Bush left office. They cannot blame the ex-president anymore for
the country’s woes. They are now at a point where this deficit-spending
and out-of-control government encroachment is bankrupting us and
creating major concern in foreign banking markets.

Two weeks ago I wrote a column on long-time congressman Charlie Rangel,
the Head of Ways and Mean in the House. His tax problems were being
brushed under the rug by a willing and cooperative IRS. Well, despite
that, the media and the public have caught up with his shenanigans.

Rep. Rangel, like Senator Reid, is caught in a change of America’s
needs. As Rangel and Reid go, so does the rest of the Democratic
candidates in 2012.

All this government spending has come home to roost with a nation
suffering over 10% (in real numbers, more like 16%) unemployment. They
have lost their way and are living in a world that is plump and happy.

This is not the era of President Johnson’s “Great Society” of FDR’s
alphabet government programs. It is an era of reflection for many
Americans. Many who have been in the same job for years are suddenly
left unemployed and without their dignity. Others have been wiped out
by the fall of their only real savings for retirement ….. 401Ks.

Now is NOT the time for huge spending and social programs, but rather
strict budget spending and toned back government intervention.

The Obama people do not get it. Their mission is to bring government
into every facet of our lives as the savior of our downslide. From
automobiles to health care, they are planning to re-distribute the
wealth of our country and “standardize” everybody that lives here.

But there is one item in the way to block this rush to socialize this
country. That is called the 2012 elections when the likes of Rangel and
Reid will be replaced with fiscally responsible and honest politicians
that the electorate demands.

The “experiment” of “change” that the Obama campaign successfully
thrust upon the voting public is officially over. That end will soon
be noticed with the upcoming governor races in New Jersey and
Virginia.

Only a complete about face will save the catastrophe that awaits
Democrats holding on to President Obama’s threadbare coattails.

Nancy Pelosi, Democrat criminal, accessory before and after the fact to
Rangel's tax evasion.
