ElBaradei says nuclear Israel number one threat to Mideast
TEHRAN, Oct. 4 - Director General of the International Atomic Energy
Agency
(IAEA) Mohamed ElBaradei said Sunday that "Israel is number one threat to
Middle East" with its nuclear arms, the official IRNA news agency
reported.
That's like saying the Earth goes around the Sun, that's like saying
human beings are bipedal apes, that's like saying the Earth is not
flat, that's like saying the Earth is more than a few thousand years
old, that's like saying human beings have evolved from fish. Yet
where can you find Barack Obama (or Nicolas Sarkozy or Gordon Brown)
uttering the immortal words, "I call upon the Israeli government to
decommission its nuclear arms"?
It seems very simple to me. I'm reminded of that scene in "Return of
the King" from the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy. Frodo Baggins,
carrying the ring of power, has reached the interior of Mount Doom.
Samwise Gamgee staggers in after him. Samwise shouts to Frodo, "Throw
the ring in the fire.". Frodo is unresponsive. Samwise cries in
despair, "Why don't you just let it go?".
Barack Obama can just utter a few lines and we'd have both peace and
security for both Palestinians and the Israelis in a week and probably
a wider Middle Eastern peace shortly thereafter.
I was searching on google for a good picture of Obama handling the
ring ofpower. But, the best I could come up with was one where he's
already put it on.

Here's two more cool ones I found.

The once mighty Labour party of Israel took just 13 seats in the 120
member Knesset (or Israeli parliament) in the February 2009 Knesset
elections.

That's 4th place, lagging behind Avigdor Liebermann's ultra-right
outfit, Yisrael Beiteinu.
Earlier this year, an aide to the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin
Netanyahu, when asked how anxious Benjamin Netanyahu was about Iran,
replied, "Think Analek".

You know, Bibi Netanyahu and his entourage, really are experts at
adding oil to fire.
Amalek, according to one interpretation, is the great enemy of the
Jewish people, against whom any measures can be taken.
Fromhttp://andrewsullivan.theatlantic.com/the_daily_dish/2009/05/the-spec...
"Yahweh commanded: "Now go and strike Amalek and devote to destruction
all that they have. Do not spare them, but kill both man and woman,
and infant, ox and sheep, camel and donkey."".
Israel adopts a policy of strategic ambiguity regarding its nukes.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strategic_ambiguity
From:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nuclear_weapons_and_Israel
"Israel is currently believed to possess between 75 and 400 nuclear
warheads with the ability to deliver them by ground, aircraft, and
submarine"
Yes, Netanyahu knows that those nukes that Israel has, and which it
neither confirms nor denies it has, are a useful hammer to wave in the
faces of his Middle Eastern neighbours. But, imagine if the tables
were turned, and you were a neighbouring Arab or Iranian government or
one of the people of those countries and you have a member of
Netanyahu's entourage saying stuff like this.
