If you took transit, you wouldn't have to worry about parking tickets.
And Bloomberg doesn't decide ticketing policy for the precincts. |

micro-managing.
A physical impossibility.

You're the one that said that Bloomberg doesn't decide tiketing
policy. I replied to this in disagreement.
Then maybe you'd better say what you mean by "decide ti[c]keting
policy." What _I_ meant was all the absurd details Fighter Against
Freedom is going on about and blaming on Bloomberg.
I wonder whether Fighter Against Freedom is going to come up with
lengthy messages explaining why Thompson is the better candidate for
mayor. (But I won't see them because they won't be cross-posted to
nyc.transit, right?) |

Bloomberg has no say whatsoever about Transit policy. He appoints
something like 4 of 17 MTA board members, and that's it.
His endless commercials this summer about transit improvements were
ridiculous, since there's nothing he can do about any of them. |

Quote: Have you seen the deceptive signs now found along many midtown Manhattan
streets? Some signs tell you parking is not permitted at certain hours on
certain days, but say nothing about the parking rules at other times. There
are no parking meters, and all you see about that is a sign telling you to
"Pay at the muni-meter."
....
There is NOTHING on any of the signs
about the days and hours on which these muni-meter parking rules are in
effect!
Every muni meter zone I've seen in NYC has standard parking signs at
regular lengths along the curb, that say things like:
6 Hour Parking
6 PM - Midnight Mon - Fri
8 AM - Midnight Sat
Pay at Muni Meter ->
The same information is provided on the muni meter itself.
What Midtown blocks are you referring to, and what do the signs say?
If you can't provide these basic facts, there's no validity to your
complaint.
(And, as I said the last time you complained about the night
regulations in December '08, it seems to me that NYCDOT went out of
their way with the Night Regulation plates to notify the public that
the regulations are unusual. And the places I've seen these rules are
industrial zones that are busiest during the workday, so it makes
sense to do street cleaning overnight. I asked you for examples of
blocks with night regulations that target clubgoers and other people
who need to park at night, and you never responded.)

How many jaywalking tickets are issued yearly?
Ticket blitzes are politically and economically motivated.

You said "all city codes".

If they raise the current fine (which a believe is just a few dollars)
to $50 there would be a TON of tickets issued.
Its all about the Cheddar.
