Today, just one day after the primaries, I get junk mail from Billionaire
Bloomberg attacking Thompson, the Democrat that will trounce him in the
coming NYC mayoral election.
Never forget that Bloomberg is a Republican - the "profits over people"
party whose tolerance of white-collar crime gave us the current economic
meltdown. Also on their watch we had 9/11, the unnecessary Iraq war, and
other disasters. Under the Republicans the rich (like Bloomberg) get richer
while the rest of us scrape to get by, and sometimes lose our jobs and homes
in the process.
Bloomberg attacks Thompson on the schools issue, claiming he distorts
Bloomberg's record. Strange however that Bloomberg never mentions his
profitable school-related boondoggles that do nothing to educate children.
I now observe at every school around my Brooklyn neighborhood massive
construction work, and this has been going on for some time under Bloomberg.
Scaffolding covers the facades; schoolyards have been
fenced off from public access and dug up. The recreational facilities
available during and after school hours - handball courts, basketball
courts, playing fields, etc. - have all been destroyed. How is this great
expenditure helping to educate the children? To whom is all that money
going? Exactly WHAT is the purpose of all this construction work?
Unnecessary or unnecessarily prolonged construction is an old urban
boondoggle through which politicians pay their dues (with our money) to
special interests, often corrupt, and profit from kickbacks, campaign
donations, and other indirect means.
It cannot be denied that mayor Bloomberg is a master money maker. If there
is anything he has, aside from billions of dollars, it is business savvy. He
DOUBLED his wealth during his tenure as New York City mayor. Successful
businesspeople do not make an investment without a good chance of coming out
ahead.
Bloomberg has to date invested well over 36 MILLION DOLLARS in personal
funds in
media ads and junk mailings promoting himself for re-election. Though the
job pays him little directly he must certainly be profiting from it and
intending to continue to do so, given his gains during his tenure.
Businesspeople do not invest $36,000,000 without some certainty their
returns will exceed their investment!
One must ask where all his past gains while in office came from, and why he
is now pursuing the office of mayor so aggressively?
Aside from school construction work that does nothing to educate children,
other possible big money sources for Bloomberg are foreign interests,
governmental and private. Bloomberg is an ardent Zionist - he saw fit to go
AWOL from his mayoral duties and run off to Israel for several days to
support their Gaza invasion, taking other city officials with him on that
junket. This is obviously not a mayor that puts democracy, New York City,
and America first! His favoritism and special favors to his "chosen people"
are well documented.
Bloomberg has already invested well over $36,000,000 to stay in office. He
certainly must intend to make far more than that if he succeeds!
VOTE FOR FREEDOM AND DEMOCRACY - VOTE BLOOMBERG OUT! |
