All I can say is "wow."
The 9/12 rally happened this weekend and if there was any question on
where America stands right now, I think images from Washington, D.C., on
Saturday should help answer them.
Estimates on the crowd size range from London's Daily Mail report of over
1 million, all the way to the obligatory "tens of thousands" lowball.
Whatever the actual number, it doesn't matter — the turnout was absolutely
astonishing.
According to The Daily Mail, the White House was shocked by the size of
the crowd. What I found shocking was the arrogance and the choice of words
that White House senior adviser David Axelrod chose to describe the rally:
(BEGIN 'FACE THE NATION' VIDEO CLIP)
DAVID AXELROD, SENIOR WHITE HOUSE ADVISER: First of all, Bob, I don't
think it's indicative of the nation's mood.
And so, you know, I don't think we ought to be distracted by that. My
message to them is, they're wrong.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
Oh, David. If only you were on the right side of this argument.
They are still choosing to play the same kind of politics that America is
currently rejecting and the media still doesn't get it — that or they're
complicit in whatever shell game the government is playing, because they
largely chose to ignore it or cover it with headlines like these: "Tea
Party Movement Has Anger, No Dominant Leaders."
No leader? Good — that's what is called "grassroots."
I've told you before, the paradigm is about to shift. I just laughed at
the lack of coverage in the news because the newspapers (who are shedding
subscribers) and the media don't even realize they are driving the nail
into their own coffin. How do you, by in large, miss this gigantic rally
which, by some reports, at least approached the crowd at the Obama
Inauguration?
How is that possible? They aren't giving you the truth. The good news is
you get that. Only 29 percent of Americans say that news organizations get
their facts straight — 29 percent.
The lies aren't working anymore.
Look at what has happened as the mainstream media on the sidelines — look
at what you've done:
• Van Jones, after the cruel "smear campaign" that included playing video
of him speaking, resigned
• The "cash for clunkers" government computer glitch story was uncovered
by a watchdog and the government shut it down
• The art propaganda at the NEA exposed on this program by another regular
citizen doing the media's job
• On Friday, nobody (besides FOX News and some blogs) were reporting on
the ACORN tapes and the census completely cut ties with ACORN (although,
that one is a little too good to be true — so I'm keeping an eye on it)
• This weekend in D.C. one of the biggest (and most peaceful) crowds there
ever
But all of that is only the beginning. Questions still need to be
answered. Remember, I'm not trying to get people fired, I'm just asking
questions. Just because I talk about someone doesn't mean they need to be
fired, I'm just looking the real agenda. I'm doing what the president told
me to do: Find out where he stands by looking at those he surrounds
himself with.
Firing the corrupt ACORN workers or forcing Van Jones to resign doesn't
answer the question: "How and why did he get there in the first place?"
Some more good news — even CNN, in an interview with an Air America host —
are finally asking the same question I've been asking:
(BEGIN 'RELIABLE SOURCES' VIDEO CLIP)
ANA MARIE COX, NATIONAL CORRESPONDENT, AIR AMERICA RADIO: Yes, I think
this is another sign — I am very curious about how the White House sort of
spot through some of the lower-level appointees, I mean, not so lower
level. I think that during the campaign they showed a masterful
understanding of the way that the media works and the way that people
respond to certain kinds of allegations. It seems like they really had no
idea this was going to be a problem and that disturbs me more than
anything.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
Sooner or later people on both sides of the aisle will realize that this
isn't about left vs. right or conservative vs. liberal. We're being played
by Republicans and Democrats. The weasels in Washington are pitting us
against each other because it's convenient for them. They don't care about
you. They are playing the same old Washington games and to play the game
you have to play ball.
Put the ball down and head for the clubhouse — this game is rigged.
If they really wanted just health care reform, why is there a provision to
subsidize union health care pension plans to the tune of $10 billion?
Could it have anything to do with this?
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
THEN-PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE BARACK OBAMA: Your agenda has been my agenda
in the United States Senate. Before debating health care, I talked to Andy
Stern and SEIU members. Before immigration debates took place in
Washington, I talked with Eliseo Medina and SEIU members. Before the EFCA,
I talked to SEIU. So, we've worked together over these last few years and
I am proud of what we've done. I'm just not satisfied.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
Democrats, did he call you? Did he call any of your friends? Or is it just
another crazy coincidence from that nut Glenn Beck?
Until all the cards are face up we cannot allow anything else to pass. No
more giant bills with all kinds of goodies for special interests lost in
thousands of pages of legalese.
Maybe Obama trusts the groups cobbling together these bills — like the
Apollo Alliance — with the stimulus or as the president says Andy Stern at
SEIU.
But I don't.
All the special interest handouts in the stimulus, health care, and cap-
and-trade bills aren't there to build a better nation. They are there to
build the framework of these corrupt "organizations" like ACORN and SEIU
to fundamentally transform America.
And if we allow these bills to go through, an already enormous problem
will spread like a disease.
We need to kill the corruption before we do anything else.
Start by rejecting those in the mainstream media who refuse to bring you
the truth. Keep score on them and spread the word. For example, reports on
Van Jones from appointment to resignation:
• FOX News: 51
• CNN: 9
• MSNBC: 2
• ABC: 1
• CBS: 2
• NBC: 1
• The New York Times: 1
• The Washington Post: 4
• Wall Street Journal: 1
Or reports on ACORN corruption:
• FOX News: 133
• CNN: 90
• MSNBC: 10
• ABC: 2
• CBS: 1
• NBC: 2
• The New York Times: 17
• The Washington Post: 10
• Wall Street Journal: 5
Keep questioning with boldness, hold to the truth and speak without fear.
Hold their feet to the fire.
I want to talk directly to those in Washington, D.C.: This country — the
greatest country the planet has ever seen — was founded by 56 men and I
believe we only need 56 men today to free our government from the rabid
corruption and special interests and to protect and defend the republic
and the Constitution of the United States of America. You may have gone to
Washington with good intentions and now find yourself in a seemingly
impossible situation, you may even think there's no way out — I'm here to
tell you: You are wrong.
• Is Beck right? Click here to sound off
Look at Saturday's protests: Republicans and Democrats; some of them want
health care, some don't; some are pro-life, some are pro-choice. They
don't agree on every single issue except one: They all want the corruption
and the political games out.
They want elected (and appointed) officials to pay taxes just like they
do. And to be held to the same standards as regular Americans if they fail
to pay.
They don't care about special interests and they have real power and that
power will stand behind you if you want to be part of the 56 re-founders
and rat out the corruption. But, if you continue to be part of the
problem, those same people will hold you accountable.
There's one thing about America: We love a good redemption story. If you
come clean — and I can't promise it will be easy, there will be some rough
days ahead — but if you come out and start the work of re-founding
America, you will have an army behind you. Don't be on the wrong side of
history.
We've taken a side and that's for the rule of law, for the republic, for
the Constitution.
Which side are you going to be on? |
