Time For An Israeli Strike?
[comment on John Bolton at Washingtonpost]
Look--While the Obama Administration is eager to
pursue "talking" with an Iran that is only interested
in pursuing nuclear capabilities (as if the United
States had nothing whatever to loose even if Iran went
fully nuclear), the Israelis understand perfectly they
are "under the gun." The clock is ticking on their
annihilation (their Second Holocaust as it were), and
I don't see how ANY Jewish leadership in Israel could
risk that Iran gets nuclear weapons without Iran using
them to fulfill "Allah's command" that Israel be wiped
off the map. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think the Iranian
overlords are genuinely pious and religiously insane.
Now: There are a lot of Americans who are liable to be
targeted by Iran after this strike; and I'm wondering
whether Obama has made plans to safeguard them
(or at least to minimize casualties among them). As
opposed to, say, planning a lot of really pointless
righteous indignation afterwards... and lots and lots
of funeral attendances. For it seems to me that instead
of relying on the American Military's ability to protect
its soldiers and civilians, wherever they happen to be,
the Obama Administration is relying more "on the
kindness of strangers" (as it were: Iranian good will
and sound logic and reason). I don't know...
We'll see whether the Iranians really understand that
(after an Israeli strike on their nuclear facility...
possibly even including deep-burrowing nuclear
strikes), that Americans are innocent bystanders
and the Iranians confine their ire to Israel alone ...
