Suspects I'll be listening to live stuff all day now.

Live Zep is the only way I really listen to Zep anymore.

I haven't purposely listened to Led Zeppelin in about 20 years.

Tom

III, Houses of the Holy and Physical Graffiti are still personal
favourites and I tend to dig them out for a listen every so often.

All great albums.  I don't really think they made a bad album. I have
just heard it all so much that I only reach for the live sessions
anymore when I want to get the Led out.

I have found some stunning bootlegs over the years, so I mix those up
with the studio albums. LZ sit 7th in my last.fm band chart and will
probably remain a top 10 most played band for the foreseeable.

I am not saying I don't like Led Zeppelin, just I have heard them so
much I don't feel I need to hear them anymore. Maybe I'll find some
time to listen to some of their stuff just for the retro.

They`re one of those bands I`m always happy to listen to but would never do
so by choice. I haven`t actively played an album by them in christ knows how
many years.

What about Deep Purple?

As a live album, loved Made in Japan

I still like most of Zeps catalogue, each of albums has something
essential on it for me.

What about Deep Purple?

I`m a far bigger DP fan than a LZ one. That said there are only 4 albums by
them I ever really listen to. They`re sat at joint 243rd place on my lastfm
charts with 28 listens in the last 3 years. I`ve allegedly listened to Led
Zep once in the same time...a solitary listen to Stairway to Heaven.

28 songs played?

I really like Child in Time.

Well I just resized the mp3s of songs I use in portable players to
192k to save hd space since you can't play flac files natively on many

songs, remixes, live songs etc to save even more space. I find that
stuff somewhat interesting but I can definitely live without it. So
how do you guys like alternate versions of songs? Also I know this is
going to be blasphemy I'm not a fan of live albums unless they're dvds
or blu rays.
Keeping all mine, just trying to organize from the various downloads and

get rid of the dupes. I'm a big fan of live albums and although many
are touched up I still think its the best way to hear what a band really
is without actually being there so I wont get rid of those. Matter of
fact I'll go seeking live albums and bootlegs just to have. Mind you
its not Grateful Dead bootlegs of 3 versions of every show. Also
keeping the cover tunes and rarer stuff.

Agreed. I wouldn't be without my live albums. I would add Pink Floyd
(mainly the bootlegs, but don't mind the post-Waters live stuff), Iced
Earth, Opeth, Kreator, Led Zep, Queen, Rainbow and I might even add
the new Immortal, At The Gates and Amorphis live albums as well.

Agreed, I don't listen to them much and never saw them live but recorded
they sounded heavier live than in studio.

I do, it`s an awesome track. DP are very much one of those bands I really
like but hardly ever play...I`m far more likely to put one of Rainbow`s
first 3 albums on if in a Blackmore mood.

I just bought a Best of DP CD for $8. So I've been spinning them.

The only DP albums I ever play are In Rock, Machine Head, Perfect Strangers
and Fireball. You can probably buy all 3 for not much more than the price of
a compilation nowadays.

I had Machine Head. It's gone somehow. I have PS, and two live
albums, and now, well, the best of comp.
I did see where they're going to release a new package comp best of
soon. I believe it's going to have a DVD live in the special edition.

Thru trimming my stuff down I recovered 10-15gigs which is pretty good.
Next I'm going to try different levels of compression for the flac files
I tell ya db poweramp is a wonderful tool.

There was a Deep Purple box set called Shades that came out around
2000 I think that was fantastic.

The Very Best of DP CD I have was first released around that time.
It's cheap (around $Cool and contains about 75 minutes of music. Good
deal. Unless, you don't like DP.
