Davy has made several unsavory comments about Cassidy through the years..
One time he said something about Cassidy "having no soul" or something
like
that. The Cassidy fans were at arms over it. ?They were posting on all the
Davy guestbooks and forums and just raising hell.
Must've took Cassidy a long time to post all those comments on Davy's
guestbooks and forums! >:-}

I got a huge LOL from this one! Thanks! Smile

You're welcome! Smile

Yet, the few times they have performed together, you'd think they were old
friends.  So who knows.

Publicity stunt. It's rather genius. :)

I don't think we could ever get an album from Mike and Peter as a duo,
though I always thought the two should've teamed up for an album. If
it were to happen, I rather doubt such an album would include yet
another variation of "Lady's Baby" and "Circle Sky," although they
could do a twist on new versions of the songs by each having the other
sing their song.

OK, OK, I did like Milkshake. But Nez added a lot of strength to what
would have been another average recording.

Well, that was Mike and MICKY with Peter, so we're back up to Monk3ees
(as I spell it).

In the "two" division, Peter and Micky will be together this weekend
(see petertork.com) and a local coffeehouse manager insisted to me in
1998 or so that he had Mike and Micky coming to play together. That
never happened, of course*, and frankly I think the guy was totally
out of his mind thinking that it ever would.

*(Although Peter did play the venue with James Stanley, and Mike
famously played the big room upstairs from the coffeehouse, the
Longhorn Ballroom.)

write all of the songs together, deciding who would sing lead on each
song or if both would trade leads on the same song. Of course, you
could have guest appearances from other musicians but while I suspect
Micky would say yes right away, Davy would be an emphatic no!

No worse than the endless versions of the awful "You and I"

Nesmith and Tork harmoniszing could be the new Dylan and Cash.

True dat. But even worse is "I'll love you forever" being dedicated to
every girlfriend,
sister, group of fans, daughter, middle aged fan with Downs Syndrome, 3 year
old kid in the audience, and so on and so on for the last 8-10 years. But
it was written for brand new wife #3, of course...:-)

I have never liked that song since day one. I do like the "You & I" on Pool
It, though.

You and I on Pool it? Do you mean Justus? Endless versions of You and I?
I think someone has the DJBH/Justus song confused with the Present song.
I was trying to be funny with the remark about Lady's Baby. I didn't
mean I hate the song, just that it took Peter so many attempts to record
the song to his satisfaction.

I'm not sure why some performers feel the need to constantly re-record
the same song over and over again. I was discussing this subject with
Tony, regarding Melanie (of "Brand New Key" fame) who has
recorded...and recorded...and recorded about a jillion versions of
"Ruby Tuesday" since 1970. She's remade some of her other greatest
hits as well, but I have to guess that maybe neither she nor Davy were
satisfied with all of the various versions. And perhaps they kept
hearing something they could never get in a new arrangement of the
song, so they keep trying.

I always thought they had some good potential for harmony vocals.
Their harmonies on "All of Your Toys" near the end of the song provide
a good example of what a recording featuring just the two of them
might sound like together. What a missed opportunity!
