The Stage at Forest Hills Tennis Stadium
In another of my powerful world exclusives, these are the only known piccies
of the actual Musical Stage at the now defunct Forest Hills Tennis Stadium
in Queens, NY.
Awl the ancients played off this stage, from The Beatles to The Doors to The
Momas & The Popas to Janis to the infamous Jimi and the Monkees show to Lil'
Stevie Wonder to The Four Boxtops to anyone and everyone else from that
genre. This is where it awl happened and brother I do mean AWL.

Sometimes I feel my work is underappreciated.

Look for the beach chair on Stage Left.
Notice how big the bunting is and how intimate the house is. This particular
day they were setting this Stage up for Chicago, but you can rest assured I
was there for The Beatles show that happened here less than ten years before
I shot this Super 8 film. Notice I'm the only one there with a camera, any
sort of camera as well.
You can't see from the freezies but the guy carrying the board is hamming it
up for the camera. Like I said I think my work goes unappreciated a lot. I'm
the world's greatest filmmaker.
It's bringing me back to my Forest Hills days. I told you that you can see
how small a place it really was.
Everything is front of house. It was such a small, intimate setting. Look
for the beach chair on Stage Left. That is one
of my new discoveries of the Films.
Oh hay I've got Mr. Peanut along with Jim Bouton. Me and my assistant sound
engineer at the California Jam Schteven cajoling and cavorting with Jim
Bouton...
For some reason it looks like iconic Mr. Peanut didn't like me. But the
little blonde girl who raped me in the bushes liked me. Would you like films
of that too? |
