His latest Dominator is the best he's done in years.  You should give
it a try.

I should. I will likely be listening to the new Immortal soon. I
guess it's out next week.

Wow that is pretty awesome, it's too bad you didn't get a chance to
meet Halford.  I can't imagine what I would say to him.

Something like this, maybe?

"Hello, big fan, I've enjoyed most of the music you've made."
Of course, "Can I get a refund for Demolition" probably wouldn't be
well received

By choice or through mainstream media? Perhaps things are different over
your side of the pond. Queen are probably the most played band on radio and
tv in the UK alongside The Beatles ( Queen`s Greatest Hits is the best
selling album of all time in the UK...no ACDC album is in the top 50....and
you`d pretty much *never* heard ACDC on mainstream radio here ).

By random listens of the radio in my car, the only time I really
ever listen, I hear Queen a lot, and AC/DC a lot.

I just try not to listen to the radio, even for traffic updates.  I
would rather sit in a traffic jam than listen to the idiots on our
local station.

Every station has them. Idiots.

Unfortunately I am still not fit enough to drive

wonder which is worst, her pop music or the local radio.

I hope you get better soon, this sounds like it's quite serious.

The pop music would be a change from your normal listening. The
small case e. insists that taking breaks from certain music is a good
idea.
I don't think he means 15 year breaks, though.

I don't know if any one of you have noticed this, but Ripper has to
have more English as a second language fans than he does anyone
else.   I believe this is due to the lack of emotion and unpleasant
mid range (not to mention some of the lyrics he's had to sing over the
years, especially on Demo and his recent solo release) probably
translates better to someone who is not familiar with the English
language.

I tried to be nice, but there goes Kevin. You know, Kev, you are
quite dependable to be rude to sometime posters.

I did not put Ripper, Ralf Scheepers or Sean Peck on my list even

Halford-like  (to say the least).  The same goes for Tony Martin who I
feel really was one of the greats (for a brief moment in time) but he
cops too much from Dio IMO and his flamed burned bright for that
Headless Cross moment and blew out just as quickly as it was lit.

I like at least one song off of each of the albums he's done with
BS. I don't blame him for some of the unsavory songs on them. I don't
believe he got to write any songs, maybe a few song lyrics.

Tom, Halford wasn't on the Demolition album, but insert Voyeurs in
it's place and you have the same thing.

Tony Martin sounded great on all the Sabbath albums he was on ( he couldn't
save Forbidden though). Plus the stuff he was involved in afterwords like
The Cage (not that American band) and Giuntini Project. I think part of the
reason I really like the new Candlemass vocalist is because he's very
similar sounding to Tony Martin. Ralf Scheepers doesn't sound anything like
Halford on the Gamma Ray albums ( other than they could both hit high
notes).

Yeah, but Demolition is a JP album. I see what you're saying.

When is the last time you heard about Queen postponing a show?

I`ve lost track of what this current incarnation of Queen is up to ( the one
with 2 original members that occasionally plays big arena shows with a
different singer ) but Queen as an ongoing project ceased to be about 17
years ago when Freddie Mercury died. They generally used to play huge
stadium shows in their last 5-6 years and I don`t remember them being famous
for cancelling shows or anything...but then I never did see them live.

They were touring with Paul Rodgers and even recorded an album with
him, under the moniker of Queen and Paul Rodgers.  It was quite
forgettable.  Recently their collaboration with Rodgers has come to
end, and I haven't seen anything since.  Not that I am avid follower
of May and Co's every activity.

One thing I noticed about Paul Rodgers is that he has lost weight
since his days with The Firm which included a certain drummer before
he joined AC/DC, Chris Slade.
Excellent drummer too. For one of the 1990 shows I attended at the
Capital Centre (same place they filmed Heavy Metal Parking Lot), had
seats on the floor toward the back... and security kept shooing us
back into our seats and thankfully didn't get physical since about
everyone with those seats was dancing to the beat... for an AC/DC
concert!
