He's been singing regularly with Jon Lord recently. I had never heard of him
before but he's been incredible both times I have seen him. Have a listen to
this and you can perhaps see why Jon Lord picked him to sing Child in Time:

There are singers and there are singers.

The rock world is full of vocalists that may have charisma and a
characteristic voice, but their technical ability is often quite
limited. This guy really can sing! That rendition of Gethsemane was
really good, and it's easy to understand that he can do "Child in Time"
well. Or for that matter "Soldier of Fortune".

While off-topic, I can't resist from comparing with a tribute album for
Joni Mitchell that I've bought recently. In the middle of the album,
there is "Ladies of the Canyon" interpreted by Annie Lennox, an artist
I've paid much attention to. But there is also this startling contrast,
because she is a so much better singer than any other artist on that
album.

I would love to hear Damian Wilson do CIT or Ghetsemané for that matter.
I think he would do a killer job on them.

As for Steve, allthough he was more on musical mode than rock mode I got
goosebumps all over !!
Thrilling version !!

If you see Jon, please tell him that he needs to release a live album
from this tour!

Been checkin'out some of his solo stuff ( All I Am) and work with his band
The Storys.
If you like Damian Wilson (solo stuff) you'll sure like Steve's work.
Singer songwriter, pop with a rock edge, and an overall musical feel to it.

I liked it enough to enlist it in my IPod Hall Of Fame and Roll Of Honour !!

Greetz,
Harrie
