Thanks, Melia, for the link.
Of course it goes without saying that by going to http://www.youtube.com
& typing "leonard cohen israel 2009" into the Search box One can find
numberous clips of that performance, of varying length & audio/video
quality.
For the faint of heart, here are a couple.
Leonard Cohen The Partizan life in Israel september 24 2009:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PpnmLBYYUBY
Leonard Cohen - Hey, That's No Way To Say Goodbye + Priestly Blessing
Live in Israel:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A6Y1x2y3qyg
Of course, this part is referenced in the globalvoices piece.
I really didn't unnerstand that blessing from the U2B, since, like
bob, english is my only language and sometimes not even that.
I cd make out only one word, sounded like "adenoid".
I'm quite content to learn that it's simply what my grandMa left us, &
which she referenced as the Book of Numbers, Chapter 6, Verses 24-26.
Like myself, she preferred the KJV.
That said, in this pursuit, It's important to include 2009 in yr
search, unless you want returned also bits from his '73 & '74 shows
there.
Which you might.
שלום עליכם
which (if it works) i thnik means:
Shalom aleichem.
G-d bless you & goodnight friends,

Alas I have no links to share or any profound words to part with. The
hour is getting late, the sun is getting low and the better half waits
in silence.
All I can say is may your name and those of all you love be written in
the book of life for another healthy, happy and hopefully prosperous
year. |

Gosh i don't know what to say. I'm upstate New York and the sun has
yet to set.
As you've lighted lamps in the past, let me turn yours on.

Great Spirit, release me from petty concerns
and from the specter of specialness.
Open my eyes and I will see the threads of light
that weave the tapestry of unity
in the midst of all illusionary separations.
Like the morning sun that rises
with each one of your breaths
lift my heart and I will sing your song
a song of life, a song of love
where the many at last become the One. |

Beautiful, Melia. Thanks and thanks, Mr. Cohen!. I came across:
Imagine: Imagine for a moment a world where all people truly did
their best to love and empower each other. Imagine if a significant
number of the people on this planet truly did their best to live by
these simple keys. You can choose to become one of those people right
now. You can choose to make your life and our world a better place. It
is fully possible. There are people of all races, religions, and
beliefs around the globe already committed to living by these or
similar ideals. Let us then choose with an open mind and heart to add
to their numbers. Let us choose every day of our lives to do what's
best for all, to open to divine guidance, to accept and understand,
and to love and empower ourselves and all around us to be the best
that we can be.

Imagine is a good word. Dudley practices empowering others. You do
too. So do I. Many more indeed already do and it is going to become
the trend of the future. Glad to be meeting some of the neo pioneers,
here and elsewhere.
God bless and whoa!, Leonard intensity is a joy to behold. That man
could stand in a column of light, even in a land of light, and not
flinch.
That he can be brought to his knees on Rosh Hashanah is quite
interesting too.
Imagine if a significant

" To be the best that we can be!" Whoa, ain't that's a great idea!
Neither far fetched nor airy fairy. Just right, just right.

Ciao Babz. More often than you will ever realize, you and Janice have
kept my spirit up. You were not the only ones but you were of the ones
among the ones.
One in spirit with you two, or as dudley requested albeit in different
words, in fast asap at-one-ment now.

three, four or five will do too.

While living in Thailand and Hawai'i, I have had the opportunity
to speak many times the words Namaste and Aloha, and even mean
them. But Maranatha and Amama are new to me, where are they from?

Maranatha was the apostle Paul's manner of greeting his cohorts,
meaning "the Lord is come"... it is also one of the intonations used
in contemplative prayer, inviting union.
Amama is the Hawai'ian Huna version of "so be it" or amen, in
gratitude of being.
Or, as my son signs his email...

Mahalo for that. Gratitude has immense power.
You think "and so it is" might also work?
