Hello Everybody,
I have decided to teach myself to play the keyboard. Nothing too
serious... just for fun. Which keyboard do you think I should get? I
was thinking Casio MA-150. It is very cheap. But I cannot find any
review for this instrument. How is it as a first keyboard?
Regards,
Sant |

You didn't look very hard for reviews. Here is one
http://weltenschule.de/TableHooters/FirstAustria_MC-36.html
The reviewer says "I consider this thing rather suitable for play
training than for making music".
Overall, this review paints the device as being unworthy even to learn
to play the keyboard.
FFS it doesn't even have full size keys. How can you learn to play
keyboard on a toy keyboard.

opinion about the Yamaha PSR-E213 and PSR-E313? The 213 does not have
'touch response' (which 313 does) but costs less. For starters like
me, which would you suggest?
I have the 213 in my apartment (home away from home...work) and the
sounds are decent. There's no touch, but it's not a bad rig for the
price. It's not a performance instrument to be sure, but for $100 or
so, you get quite a lot. |

You should at least get a keyboard with standard size keys and touch
(velocity sensitivity). A keyboard without velocity sensing is pretty
useless. It might be better to a MIDI controller keyboard and use your
PC for generating the sounds. This way you can spend your money on a
proper keyboard and not waste it on Mongware.
