SILVA SCREEN RECORDS PRESENTS
HIGH SCHOOL SALUTE
Celebrating the Tradition of American Marching Bands
From football games to graduation ceremonies, the marching bands are
the essential part of the American school events. Bringing a varied
programme that includes everything from traditional Sousa marches and
film themes to rock classics and contemporary pop, they enliven these
traditional happenings across the US.
On this album, The Blues And Royals provide their unique take on a
variety of musical genres from Cream and Led Zeppelin through to the
music of today including Christina Aguilera and James Blunt, all
neatly topped off by a selection of traditional marches and their
salute to Disney’s High School Musical.
The history of The Blues And Royals reaches back close to 350 years
with the band still using solid silver kettledrums presented by King
George III in 1805. Today they are Britain’s worldwide cultural
ambassadors and they play concerts across the globe. Their multi-
state, coast to coast tours of the United States are warmly received
and this release is a salute to the generosity and kindness shown by
their American host.
