The music of OK Jazz 20 years after Franco's death...

This october it will be 20 years ago that Franco Luambo Makiadi died.
There will be some special shows this year to honour Franco's & OK Jazz
legacy. So 17th of october next Bana OK de Josky Kiambutuka will be playing
de Melkweg, Amsterdam, playing tribute to the oeuvre of OK Jazz and to
memorise Franco's death on october 12 th of 1989. Recently Bana OK played at
the Afrika festival, Hertme, Holland.

3 years ago Odemba OK All Stars, the OK Jazz musicians who kept the oeuvre
known to Belgium, dutch and UK audiences also at Afrika Hertme.

Where u can see the late Michel Sax and Decca, the bassplayer. U see Baniel
and Fayala, replacing Nana. At this show Madilu played his last performance
in Holland.

In 1986 there was also a Hommage a Franco show in Vaals at the border with
Aachen, Germany.

This show was with the smaller formation Banda OK Rumba All Star, with Nana
et Baniel, Malage de Lugendo; Muky Muinduila; Didant, Djo Mali, Alonzo and
J.P. Kilosho.

The oeuvre of OK Jazz is well represented on the FRANCOphonic series
