An old country song has been haunting me and I can't remember enough
of it to figure out the name or who made it popular.

All the chapel bells are ringing
In the little valley town.
And the song that they are singing
Is for baby ???? Brown.

???? ???? ???? above,
Bless, oh Lord this congregation,
Lead us not into temptation,
Guide us with eternal love.

Does this ring any bells with anyone? I surely would appreciate any
suggestions.

Gordon

Hope this is what you're looking for.

Artist: Browns
Song: Three Bells

The Three Bells
Hit #1 on Billboard in 1959 as recorded by The Browns

There's a village hidden deep in the valley
Among the pine trees half forlorn
And there on a sunny morning
Little Jimmy Brown was born

Voices only
(bung, bung, bung, bung)
All the chapel bells were ringing in the little village town
And the songs that they were singing was for baby Jimmy Brown
Then the little congregation prayed for guidance from above
"Lead us not into temptation, bless this hour of meditation"
Guide him with Eternal Love

There's a village hidden deep in the valley
Beneath the mountains high above
And there, twenty years thereafter
Jimmy was to meet his love

[Voices only]
(Bung, bung, bung, bung)
All the chapel bells were ringing, 'Twas a great day in his
life
Cause the songs that they were singing was for Jimmy and his wife
Then the little congregation prayed for guidance from above
"Lead us not into temptation, bless, oh Lord this
celebration"

From the village hidden deep in the valley
One rainy morning dark and grey
A soul winged it's way to heaven
Jimmy Brown had passed away

voice only
(bung, bung, bung, bung)
Just a lonely bell was ringing in the little valley town
'twas farewell that it was singing to our little Jimmy Brown
And the little congregation prayed for guidance from above
"lead us not into temptation, may his soul find the
salvation"
"Of thy great eternal love".

Thanks for both your responses. This is the song I've been searching

for but just couldn't remember the title. It's been haunting me for a
long time. Again, thanks, Gordon
