i couldn't disagree more about the death angel cd, i think it's
outstanding.

I do too, I played it again the other day. Great album.

I don't understand it, either. Big scream along anthem type thrash
metal.

I like Slayer and I liked CI when it came out declaring it "the best
thing they've done since Seasons of the Abyss" and yet I never play
it.   I can barely remember the individual tracks.   That said Slayer
deserves points for sticking to their guns and while their 90's albums
with Paul on drums weren't always good from beginning to end every
album has standout tracks.
I went a long time barely playing it but recently have been pulling it
out fairly regularly. It has three stand out tracks IMO ( Flesh Storm,
Cult and Supremist ) and most of it is at least good.

Excepting the songs # 2-5, The rest is good or passable. I haven't
actually listened to it from about 6 weeks of release, though. I could
only manage one end to end of the new metallica, with double listens
of about 4 songs.

What on earth is wrong with the second song?? The only track I can
understand people having an issue with is Jihad with it`s silly plinky
plonky beginning and odd structure. But other than that the album is
never bad...although I do find Eyes of the Insane plodding.

It's still my favorite song on the album ;)

Not everyone likes AoR. It is at least better than Turbo, PoE, Jug,
Demo and Nostra. So it's not ever going to be their worst effort.

Hardly a glowing recommendation there.

I don't dislike AOR. It's just so ... meh. I wanted so much more from
the great JP reunion than a bland stroll down memory lane.
