I read on a msg board where a lot of folks were saying, big
deal - Silvertone gave him the guitar to donate.

That's probably true. And I don't think it's any big deal
when a celeb w/tons of $$$$ gives something to charity now &
then & it takes about an hour of their time. Nothing
compared to folks who give a huge amount of money or time
out of their lives to help w/a cause.

But.......... Paul does a lot of this a bit here & there -
for disabled kids, prostate cancer, etc. Stuff that isn't
highly publicized. I don't know exactly how much of his time
or money he gives, but at least it's a lot more than most
folks do - rich or not.

Anyway, if you've got the bucks & can afford it, think about
bidding on this for a good cause - not too many know about
it, so it may not go too high, especially since it's just an
autographed signature guitar, not one from his personal
collection.

(BTW, as some of you know, I sell guitars. I finally got
several Paul Stanley Silvertone models in (Sovereign Pros &
Specials) & they are both excellent guitars for the money! I
even decided to keep a Pro model for myself as I liked it so
much. The workmanship is fantastic on both models - gorgeous
black metallic finish, even on the low priced one. I thought
maybe they would be so-so, & overpriced due to being
signature models, but I was quite pleasantly surprised - I
honestly think they are a better quality guitar than many
others selling for the same amount or more, & I see a ton of
these lower priced instruments. I'm planning on posting a
review soon for anyone who may be considering picking one
up. As I said before, it's a myth that Silvertone are low
quality. That was the old Silvertone from decades ago, &
even some of them were OK. The new ones are right up there
w/the best imported lower priced stuff. They are made by
Samick - they arrived in Samick shipping cartons - Samick
makes a lot of the guitars coming from overseas now,
including Epiphone, some Fenders, etc.)
