Can anyone identify bomb protest song?

There is a song I remember from back in the 1960s. Back then, my dad counted
it among his favorites, along with songs by Arlo, Phil Ochs, Pete Seeger,
and the rest of that esteemed class. He passed in 2005, so I can't ask him,
and so far I've had no success finding this song.

My unreliable recollection is that the song is called "Astigmato" (spelling
uncertain), or, at least, is about a town of that name. The song tells the
tale of a quiet little town that has been evacuated for a nuclear bomb test.
This test, happily for the town, is unsuccessful.

In my memory, at least, the song ends up like this:

For the word is passed around-
They cannot get the damn thing off the ground!
Astigmato, ring your bell!

Can anyone identify the song, singer, or anything else of that sort? I have
exercised Google every which way with a singular lack of success.
