Browsing in my local branch of a well-known music retail chain this
afternoon, I encountered a Malaysian import CD of 'God Put a Smile On Your
Face' which I wasn't previously aware of. The tracks, for anyone who's
interested, were as follows:
1. God Put a Smile on Your Face
2. Crests of Waves
3. Animals
4. Murder
5. In My Place [live - Manchester]
6. Yellow [live - Morning Becomes Eclectic]
7. Clocks [video]
8. In My Place [video]
It cost £12:99, which was a bit more than I could justify for one song. The
shop remains anonymous, BTW, because it did say "Not for resale in the EU"
on the back.

Hmmm... not heard about this either - I wonder if there are any other
Malaysian EP-type Coldplay CD singles... seems to be sort of an amalgamation
of 'Clocks' and 'God put a smile...'. Not seen the IMP video available
anywhere, though, and I've never even _heard_ of that version of 'Yellow'.
Good scout, that man. |

My guess is that longer singles means fewer of them. And I don't think
there's a country in the world that takes as many singles off an album as
the UK nowadays.
Presumably the shop chose to import this one because of 'Murder'.

I think it *might* be on one of those Now compilation DVDs, although that's
obviously not a Coldplay record as such.

It's from American radio:

Scout? I was never even a Beaver.
I was just curious to know why they were charging so much for what I'd
assumed to be the European single.
BTW, later that day I saw a newspaper freebie in a charity shop called
something like Garden Party Classics. It featured the Royal Philharmonic
orchestra playing, amongst other things, 'Trouble'.

It's on the same German DVD compilation that features 'London' by the PSB...
I was never a beaver/scout ever, although everyone else I know was.
Consequently I can't do much. Although, only three singles were taken off A
Rush Of Blood in Britain, and there were four in mainland Europe, weren't
there? |
