BARTEK finished listening to PRIEST's Nostradamus from start-to-finish
for the 500th straight day! His unique and unusual accomplishment has
been covered in media outlets all around the world, including the NY
Times, Rolling Stone Magazine, the Associated Press, the Howard Stern
radio network, to name just a few. Bartek also had a chance to meet
all of the members of Judas Priest on July 14, 2009 during their
summer tour stop in Cleveland. Bartek plans to finally end the streak,
much to the relief of his friends and family, sometime in November. A
date will soon be set where friends, followers, supporters and Priest
fans will gather for a party at a local drinking establishment in
Cleveland with Bartek to share one final listen together.

I say there can be too much of a good thing. While I may play CD 2
of the Nostradamus several times a week at work, I don't play it all
the time. Did recently burn a CD containing most of the Priest's
light songs and was hoping to include 'Caviar and Meths' but had to
axe that song from the CD since otherwise it would have interfered
with the appearance of a few songs from Nostradamus though I did leave
in 'Angel'.

500 listens would put you right back in the hospital. I'm at about 6 or 7.

It's a great release and every time I put it away and pull it back out
I appreciate it more. I still say Nostradamus will be looked back on
as a classic as time goes on. That's my opinion, and I don't care to
debate it. I could be wrong.

That said, this guy is kind of weird. I can't think of any release by
any artist I could listen to this many times in a row, but if his goal
was to get 15 minutes of fame then I guess it worked out perfectly.

I never got past the intitial two and a half. Keep meaning to go back and
give it another go but can`t drum up the enthusiasm to do so.

I fully understand. It takes a good long time to listen to.

It could for some fans, but some probably never will get there from
here. I enjoyed listening to it the last few times, but admittedly
it's probably been 4-5 months since I listened.

I think you nailed it. Saw the story about it on BM, and they had
photos with him and the band and so on.

Oh, man, I just saw he's ending his streak.

Much like when Cal Ripkin ended his.

How do we know he actually listened to the cd's all the way through
this many times? Maybe he just wanted to meet the band and get his
name in the paper.

Truth is, we don't. As to the second part, mission accomplished.

I actually prefer to think he didn't listen to the cd 500 times and
just made this up to meet the band and get his bit of fame. I
remember there was a guy right in my state of Connecticut, who was in
his 30's and he was billed as "a fan of Judas Priest" anyway he did
this stunt that got him on the national news at the time (early/mid
90's) of going down a hill real fast on a BMX bike and standing on the
handlebars. It was kind of sad in a way, but I guess he wanted to be
on tv. Another guy who was a huge Priest fan was Kenneth Keith
Calinback from the Howard Stern show, another freakish dude, who is
dead now but will never be forgotten... lol Then there was the guy
decked out in Priest paraphernalia I met at the Ozzfest show a few
years ago... all nice but very strange characters. Priest attracts a
fringe element fan sort of like a cross between neanderthal and
Trekkie.

Or like Raider fan. If you've seen the sidelines shown during Raider
games.
