While grading tests at my school job today and listening to a
youtube stream ( option to play all music videos in a given category )
on accordion selections, I saw and heard the medley with the above
title, played by Ray Marshall and Dale Wise ( two skillful musicians I
never heard of previously ), as recorded by them in 2007. The
remarkable thing about this medley is that it has 107,265 youtube
"hits" to date ( far and away the largest number I've ever seen for
traditional polka music as we know it), as well as the most effulgent
worldwide praise for a polka performance I've ever seen online---or
anywhere else --- . This is why I'm flagging it for the attention of
anyone who might be curious about this phenomenon---I'm not sure as
I'm writing this what the reasons for this "triumph", or its possible
implications, if any, for the future success of polka efforts may be
---and I'd be curious as to others' opinions about this --- I may
eventually "get a clue" myself , but for now it's back to grading
those tests ---which is sure made a lot more tolerable by that youtube
streaming option -Smile .

Dale Wise is "Mr Accordion" is these here DC parts and I have known
him for 25+ years. Dale has done what many have not been able to do --
make a LIVING from teaching, repair, sales (he's a GUERINNI rep) and
performing solely as an accordionist.

For more info about Dale, visit his website: www.accordionplus.com

He currently resides in the Fredericksburg, Virginia area and I saw
him a couple of weeks ago at The Capital Ale House Oktoberfest in
Fredericksburg.

Also, Dale is VERY active with the Washington Metropolitan Accordion
Society --
